They came from Treaties 6, 7 and 8. The grand chiefs and chiefs sat side-by-side Thursday morning.
And they laughed.
They weren’t laughing “with” someone, they were laughing “at” someone. That person wasn’t in the west Edmonton offices of the Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta. But Jeffrey Rath, the lawyer who’s become one of the loudest mouthpieces of the Alberta separatist movement, was the target of derision for some of Alberta’s First Nations leaders.
