Maleficent's Curse

Back in 2015, I attempted to draw the Disney Castle for a chalk festival. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time and I couldn't finish. This year, I revisited the concept, did it with help and with a style that fits me better.

小さな王女/Little Princess

淡い虹色の光をまとった、小さなピンクのカバの王女と、知的な鳥の執事。 物語の1シーンのような優しくて不思議な世界を、オイルパステルで丁寧に描きました。

ふっくらとしたほっぺ、きらきらと輝くまなざし、 王冠の輝きと咲き誇る花々。 一つひとつの色に想いを込めています。

Thank you for viewing. This is a gentle and whimsical scene, like something from a storybook, carefully drawn with oil pastels. It features a little pink hippopotamus princess, adorned in soft, iridescent light, and her intelligent bird butler. Every detail, from the plump cheeks and sparkling eyes to the gleam of the crown and the blooming flowers, is infused with heartfelt color.

Went outside to a park and drew the man himself. Really proud of this to the point that I couldn't believe I drew this. My first time making this type of chalk art since I haven't touch chalk in a while lmao

For the theme of Mythology/Folklore, I wanted to share Ancient Queen Arawelo who I feel embodies the strong spirit of Somali women, if not in all of us. Queen Arawelo defied gender norms and encouraged women to take on masculine roles if they wanted to. I love how strong her spirit was and wanted to capture her being a strong woman who is capable of achieving anything by appropriately using her masculine and feminine energy. . . .
