We're following @samssims's Sims Princess Legacy, so what better surname than "Sams"? Welcome to another legacy, with plenty of characters that many of us have grown up with, although with a bit more drama...
In my 2024 goals post, I mentioned that I wanted to challenge myself to complete a legacy in a year, and what better to attempt this personal goal with the Holiday Legacy by @simssprout. I am VERY much inspired by @dustbon, from using the same instagram template to the banners to using Summer Holiday as the founder, because of course, you have to do that for a Holiday legacy!
Anyway, meet Summer Holiday, who is on her own and making sure to fill her social media with pictures that make it look like she's winning in life, instead of living in a quasi-rags-to-riches situation. Also, the lighting in all of these gyms and libraries is atrocious, and I feel like I'm not happy with the lighting in the early part of this legacy at all, but I'm not redoing any of these posts, so suffer along with me.

Your story is one of endurance, of making something out of nothing. Of finding love and life in simplicity. Your story is where it all begins.
Liberty Lee is sick of her lovey-dovey roommates, so she makes a kneejerk reaction and moves out - too bad she has no job, no money, and nowhere to live. Her roommates try to assuage their guilt by letting her stay in an old trailer from a dead aunt, but that's the last bit of help she'll ever get from them - Liberty Lee is officially on her own.

From the Ground Up
As you earn funds, build your own home on your lot. You should use the micro / tiny home features in Build / Buy mode. As a young adult, you must live in the smallest tier micro home; in adulthood, you may expand to the largest tier of tiny home.
Family Life
Get married to another 'homeless' Sim - in other words, when you marry, they are not permitted to bring any money with them upon move-in. You must have at least one child, and your child(ren) should be named based on a nature theme.
Goals / Tasks
Have at least 3 tattoos.
Rarely wear makeup, and dress as casually as possible at all times.
Start on an empty lot in Willow Creek or Windenburg, and reduce money to $0.
Can use any lot size, so long as it becomes a tiny home lot later.
Give your Sim a tent and a potty bush.
Use money cheats to set money to $0.
Be self-employed with the Freelance SIMply Crafted career.
If you have any issues with gigs, you can use the Manual Labor career instead.
(EVENT) Must build and live in a suburban-style micro home for your entire life.
May upgrade to a tiny home upon aging into adulthood.
Your home should be filled with plants. All over the place. Everywhere!
Foster a healthy garden on your lot.
(EVENT) Find love while 'homeless,' and marry.
Spouse may move in, but cannot bring any money with them.
Your spouse may have a part-time job, but not a full-time job or career.
Name all children after nature.
Must have at least one child, but may have as many as you'd like.
Master the Fabrication / Handiness / Wellness skills.
Complete the Master Maker aspiration.
SUCCESSION
Heir Selection
G2H should be the child with the highest relationship to the G1H when the G1H ages into an Elder; if it is a tie, the role of G2H defaults to the oldest child between the tied heirs.
Succession
Succession occurs the moment that the G1H becomes an Elder, even if the G2H is not yet a young adult. If not a young adult yet, they may remain in the childhood home until they age up.
Endings
Check the boxes for each criteria you meet at the moment you switch to your next heir. If selecting an ending before death, just ignore those boxes. Your ending is the one with the most boxes checked off. If there is a tie, use a random number generator to choose your ending.

The Lives We Leave Behind
Did not master all of the focused skills.
Did not complete the listed aspiration(s).
Did not manage to build a respectable home until adulthood.
Most of your plants wilted, or you did not care for your garden well.
You did not leave behind $15,000 or more for your heir to take.
Had only one child.
Had negative relationships with one or more children at time of succession.
Spouse passed away before succession.
Suburban Bliss
You led a life surrounded by love; you created a space of your own, which you cherished throughout all of your days. Though you started with nothing, what you have built is more than just a home - it's a life, well-lived. It was yours... and it is your family's. This must be bliss. You've managed to lay the foundation for what will be a long, long legacy ahead.
The Generation 2 Heir will begin their story with the Home Turf bonus trait, which should be added manually.
The heir may take a maximum of $15,000 when splitting the household. If the current household funds do not meet this amount, leave the money alone and use money cheats to give the heir $10,000 total after the household split.
The Lives We Leave Behind
You knew that it wouldn't be easy, starting with so little. You did what you had to do in order to get by, and you found happiness despite what world-weary woes were sent your way. That determination to live and make the most of what you had - not just for yourself, but for those you leave behind - is an enduring trait that will follow through your lineage for years to come.
The Generation 2 Heir will begin their story with the Frugal bonus trait, which should be added manually.
The heir may take a maximum of $10,000 when splitting the household. If the current household funds do not meet this amount, leave the money alone and use money cheats to give the heir $7,500 total after the household split.
Starting the Joy of Life legacy challenge by @simelune. With this challenge, I'm trying to do less commentary in the caption and mess around more with graphics in the pictures, plus maybe work on storylines a bit more instead of just taking pictures of whatever happens. I don't know how long that'll last, and if that means I'll post more or less of this legacy than the others, but it's fun to mix things up, especially to differentiate.
What do you hope to get out of this 90 day challenge? What does short term (this 90 days) and long term success look like for you? I want to achieve these goals in the short-term and make the habits that got me there a way of life.
If you have an ultimate end goal, what is it? How do you feel about this goal? I always will have something to strive for as long as I am alive. I guess my end goal - after a long, vibrant, fulfilled life - is to feed a tree in the Pinaroo bushland (a biodegradable burial).
Tell us about what you are currently doing to drive toward your goals? As far as the goals listed in FMLS90 go, it’s only Day 4, so motivation is high and I am getting on with the job! Ask me again in a month!
Tell us about your fitness history. What have you tried in the past and what were the results? I played some team sports at school but they were never really my thing - I preferred dance and riding my horse. In my misspent 20s, I walked and partied, adding yoga to the mix in my 30s. Yoga improved my strength and fostered a sense of relatedness and gave me the confidence to take up martial arts. I did zen do kai freestyle karate, achieving a black belt in 2007, and Muay Thai. I also took up triathlon as cross-training as well as regular fun runs. The black belt grading was huge and you have to be extremely fit and strong to get through it. My ulcerative colitis started flaring a couple of years later and some heavy hits to the guts put me off fighting. When I went back to university, I could no longer commit to evening training, so put it on the back burner. (The fitness class I go to is at my dojo and I still do pad work, but no contact sparring.) I’d also decided that I really didn’t enjoy the swim part of triathlon and that cycling was my thing. Plus, you didn’t have to go to a class, you could ride when your timetable allowed. Of course I committed to cycling challenges like the 150km 3 Dams Hills Challenge - five times! I have tried CrossFit and loved it but it’s a bit expensive, so I do my own weights workouts. I’ve maintained above average levels of fitness for the past 25 years. My health set-back (see Day 1 Intro post) saw this slide. I am an exercise physiologist. I know how to get results. I just have to do it!
What are you trying differently this time? I changed my diet this year. In consultation with a dietitian I have identified the sugar chains (FODMAPs) that I can’t tolerate or can manage only in small quantities, which has made a huge difference to my daily life. No onions, legumes, pulses, apples, pears, or dried fruit and minimal wheat products for me. Like many endurance sportspeople, I bought into the carb-loading myth, which was highly inflammatory and aggravating to my gut. (Did you know that the guy who invented gels and patented Gu now says it’s the worst things he’s ever done and if he could undo it, he would?) Like countless others, my diet was heavily carb-centric, and cutting out many of those processed carbohydrate-heavy foods has also made a massive difference to how I feel. Going to France was a mini-experiment because of all the bread and pastries they consume. I came back feeling like a bloated whale and promptly lost 1.2kg in five days once my eating returned to normal! I’m rather too fond of wine, cheese and chocolate, but the challenge is to moderate - I’m not giving them up!
