Right, so Axe is a useless comodity for women. Does it prevent sweat though? Is it more effective as a deodorant if it is not attracting women? If a homosexual man used it, would he attract women or men?

Hi. This is my anything-ask: why is your blog name your blog name? Thank you.

It's not a very interesting story, I'm afraid, but it's kind of long. My first LJ was baked_ziti. It was a non-fannish blog and most of the people who interacted with me there were high school classmates. I chose that name because a couple of my friends called me Ziti -- I used to invite them to my house and cook for them, and my baked ziti was kind of a hit.

A little after that I discontinued my first fannish pseud, which I deemed myself too mature for, having picked it (Kendra Angelus -- I offer no excuses) when I was twelve; I started fresh with the much more dignified -- wait for it -- Amazon Queen Zara Ziti at the ripe old age of seventeen. The "amazon" was for general fierceness. This eventually got pared down to amazonziti, which is my current pseud.

I changed my tumblr to amazonpoodle recently because a RL friend followed my twitter account even though she knew I don't like RL people all up in my fannish grill uninvited, and was using my tweets to keep track of me -- so if she saw I was active on Twitter but not ~immediately answering her texts, she'd demand to know why. Ah, boundaries. >:( I blocked her and locked my twitter account right away; I didn't change any of my other accounts under amazonziti, like my LJ/DW, pinboard, or AO3 profile, because those allow me to choose public, friendslocked, or private entry-by-entry. However, Tumblr offers no such amenities! You are either public all the time or completely private all the time, with no friends-only or entry-by-entry options. THANKS, TUMBLR.

Anyway, I changed my tumblr -- happily, at least in this instance, Tumblr does not do redirects -- and the only one of my other accounts that links to amazonpoodle is my locked twitter. Obvs this is not foolproof, but this RL friend is not that much of an internet sleuth, so I think I'm set. I kept the "amazon" so fannish people would recognize me, and added "poodle" because poodles are the noblest beasts.

My blog title is "la maison des caniches", which means "house of poodles" in French. It is in French because poodles speak French.

Hi! I'm asking this question to random nerdfighters: can tell me what it means to be a "Nerd" and what is "Awesome"?

well, let's see. I guess the short answer would be that to be a nerd=to be awesome.

Now, the long answer...this is hard.

To me, a nerd is someone who has a desire to learn, create, and collaborate. A nerd is always in search of how they can expand their mind with new discoveries about the world around them.

Awesome is a state of being. To be awesome is to inspire others to go out and do whatever it is that they do. Something awesome is something appreciated and revered.

First off, thank you!

I think to be a nerd is to be unironically enthusiastic about stuff.

And I guess I think to be awesome is to try to decrease world-suck by doing your best to be a decent human being.
