The El Paso County Historical Commission invites the community to attend the unveiling of a historical marker honoring Elvira Villa Escajeda (1920-2022), a longtime Segundo Barrio resident and founder of the Chamizal Civic Association. The ceremony will commemorate her life and legacy, alongside families displaced by the 1964 Chamizal Treaty.

Saturday, July 18, 2026 | 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Hart Elementary School Cafeteria, 1110 Park Street, El Paso Texas 79901

A ribbon-cutting ceremony at the historical marker will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the intersection of Park Street and Olivas V. Aoy Street. 

Parking and shuttle bus information is available in the attached event guide.
