৫১ পীঠের এক পীঠ ফুল্লরায় পড়েছিল সতীর অধঃওষ্ঠ

  নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি: লাভপুর স্টেশন থেকে কিলোমিটার দেড়েক দূরে ফুল্লরা। হাঁটাপথে মিনিট বিশেক। বাসও আসছে বোলপুর থেকে। গাছগাছালি ঘেরা ছায়াময় চমৎকার পরিবেশ। লোকালয় একটু দূরে। চারিদিক বেশ ফাঁকা। মনোরম জায়গা ফুল্লরা বা অট্টহাস। শান্ত অরণ্যময় পরিবেশে প্রবেশ করলেই দেখা যায় সিঁড়ি বাঁধানো জলাশয়। কিংবদন্তি রয়েছে, রামের অকালবোধনে হনুমান এখান থেকেই নাকি ১০৮টি নীলপদ্ম নিয়ে গেছিলেন পুজোর জন্য। পাশ কাটিয়ে সামান্য এগোলেই মন্দির। খুব বড় নয় মন্দির। প্রাচীনত্বের ছাপ নেই, সাদামাটা মন্দির। বিষ্ণুচক্রে খণ্ডিত সতীর অধঃওষ্ঠ এখানেই পড়েছিল। ৫১ পীঠের অন্যতম এটি। দেবী ফুল্লরা আর ভৈরব বিশ্বেশ্বর এখানে বিরাজমান। দেবী ফুল্লরার কোনও বিগ্রহ নেই। মন্দিরের ভিতরে বড় একটি শিলা বা পাথরখণ্ড। ভাল করে লক্ষ করলে মনে হয় শিলাখণ্ডের সামনেটা ওষ্ঠাকৃতি। শিলা বা মায়ের ওষ্ঠ রক্তবস্ত্রাবৃত। সিঁদুরচর্চিত শিলাটি টকটকে লাল। সকলের অলক্ষ্যে চলে এর পুজো স্নানাদি। সতীর অধঃওষ্ঠ শিলায় রূপান্তরিত বলে মানুষের বিশ্বাস। এই শিলা যুগ যুগ ধরে পূজিত। কেবলমাত্র জবাফুল আর বেলপাতায় আচ্ছাদিত। তবে শিলাটি নাকি ক্রমশ বড় হচ্ছে। এমনই বিশ্বাস সকলের। এসব বহু বছর আগের কথা।এই স্থান ছিল অরণ্যে ঢাকা। তখন এ-স্থানের নাম ছিল খুলারামপুর বা তুলারামপুর। অনেকেই বলেন জায়গাটির নাম ছিল শ্যামলাবাদ পরে চন্দনপুর। জায়গাটি চন্দনের গন্ধে ম ম করত। পরবর্তী সময়ে এ-গ্রামের নাম হয় দক্ষিণ ডিহি। এ-গ্রামে ছিল কয়েক ঘর কৃষকের বাস। তাঁরা মাঠে চাষবাস করতেন। ঈশানি নদীর ধারে ঘন জঙ্গলে ঢাকা এ-স্থানের মানুষজন ছিলেন সুখশান্তিতে। কৃষকেরা একদিন জঙ্গলে দেখলেন এক সাধুবাবাকে। তিনি ধ‍্যানমগ্ন। কৌতূহলী কৃষকেরা গেলেন ওই সাধুবাবার কাছে। সবাই তাঁকে আভূমিনত প্রণাম করলেন। সাধুবাবা ভীষণ খুশি তাঁদের ভক্তিতে। তিনি বললেন, এখানে যজ্ঞ করতে হবে। যজ্ঞ-শেষে সাধুবাবা একটি ত্রিশূল পুঁতে দিলেন যজ্ঞস্থলে। তিনি জানালেন, এটি একটি সতীপীঠ। তারপর তিনি হঠাৎই অদৃশ্য হলেন। উগ্র এই সাধুবাবা নাকি এসেছিলেন কাশী থেকে। তিনি স্বপ্ন পেয়েছিলেন মায়ের। ফুল্লরা তীর্থের জলাশয়ের উত্তর-পূর্ব কোণ থেকে দুর্গাপুজো শুরুর আগে ভেসে আসে এক শব্দ। ওই শব্দ কানে আসার পরই শুরু হয় আশপাশের সমস্ত দুর্গাপুজো। একথা জানা যায় স্থানীয়দের কাছে। বীরভূমের প্রাচীন ফুল্লরাপীঠ এককালে ছিল তন্ত্রক্ষেত্র। সেকালে লোকসমাগম ছিল না বললেই চলে। তখন এখানে বহু শক্তিমান তান্ত্রিকই সাধনা করতেন। এখন আর তেমনকিছু নেই। বহু আগে এখানে আগমন ঘটতো শিয়ালের। প্রসাদ পেতেই উধাও হত তারা। এখন আর তেমন দেখা যায় না। ফুল্লরাপীঠে নিত্যভোগের ব্যবস্থা আছে। সামান্য অর্থের বিনিময়ে ভক্তেরা প্রসাদ পেতে পারেন। আমিষ ও নিরামিষ, দু’রকম ভোগই হয়। ছাগবলিতে নিষেধাজ্ঞা নেই। প্রতি অমাবস্যায় রয়েছে বিশেষ পুজোর ব্যবস্থা। মাঘী পূর্ণিমাতে বিশাল মেলা এবং উৎসব হয়। দূরদূরান্ত থেকে ভক্তেরা আসেন ফুল্লরা বা অট্টহাসে। দেবী ফুল্লরা খুবই জাগ্রত। তিনি ভক্তদের মনোবাঞ্ছা পূরণ করেন।

  Origin and Etymology

Coir which is also known as ‘Golden fiber’ comes from a Coconut tree. Coconut which holds a huge religious significance in certain societies of India, where it is used in many Hindu Rituals as a symbol of prosperity, a blessing of nature an auspicious object of a ceremony. Apart from religious significance they are known for their great versatility, as evidenced by many traditional uses, ranging from food, cosmetics to a various useful item of handicraft. Coconuts are commonly found on tropical trees in Kerala. In fact, even the name Kerala (Kerlam in Malayalam) is derived from this tree (“Kera” in Malayalam language means Coconut and “Alam” means Land, thus Keralam = Land of Coconut).

Folk Tale 

The coconut palm has been eulogized as “Kalpavrikshas” wish-granting trees which fulfill the desires of people in initial stages of the worldly cycle as per Jain Cosmology. It is also known as Kalpavriksha as every part of it is useful. The coconut water inside the nut is a delicious drink. In dried form, it is called Copra and is used to manufacture oil. The coconut husk is called Coir, which is used to make rope. Coconut Leaves are used to make hats, fans, mats. Palm sugar is made from budding flower. The dried midrib is used to make boats.

One of the earliest mentions of the coconut dates back to the “One Thousand and One Nights” story of Sinbad the Sailor. He is known to have bought and sold coconut during his fifth voyage. Its Malayalam and Tamil name “Thenga”, was used in the detailed description of coconut found in Itinerario by Ludovico di Varthema published in 1510.

Current Status

Presently, India is the largest coir producer in the world accounting for more than 80 per cent of the total world production of coir fiber. Coir or coconut fiber which extracted from the husk of coconut create 100% natural and eco-friendly Coir products. The dying tradition of Coir has been used artistically to make Home Decoratives like wall hangings, key rings, Christmas hangings, pen stands, coconut-rich floor mats, doormats, brushes mattresses, and to make a wide range of eco-friendly toys. In Coir toys you can see Woven magnificence of coir products. This is a unique craft as produced only in Orissa and not coconut-rich states of India.

Producer Initiative Story

Parida Family which situates in a small town of Chandhanpur, Puri in Orissa. About 50 years back Rama Parida an ordinary housewife took an initiative to promote this artwork of coir toys and started her own organization named as Subhadra Nari Coir Unit. This organization has won several Awards for their creative handicrafts. But, their achievement doesn’t end here. Women Empowered Initiative started by Parida Family. Currently employ about 50 girls and handicap women from their village and nearby villages, with the help of District Industry Centre and they run a skill development center for making coir toys in Chandpur Village, District Jalakadar, Orissa. This center helps them to learn skills by adroit professionals and bring forth an extensive range of Coir Toys.
