"Obviously these are non-alcoholic," Lena said as she stirred one of the drinks on the flight that she had ordered, wanting to try a little bit of everything while she had the chance, "but do you ever feel like they make you a little... mentally tipsy? Maybe they put something in there that just makes you a little extra happy deep down or something -- or I guess it could be the sugar." Bringing the little glass to her lips, she took a sip, darting her tongue out to get the last drop and nodding with satisfaction. "Got a favorite flavor yet?"

WHERE: cul-de-sac diner, suburbs

WHEN: march, 2026

While Rafael didn't often find himself over in the suburbs, he always stopped into the diner when he did. It might not be the fanciest plate of food, but it was always going to be warm and have that wholesome kind of taste to it that made you feel comforted, whether or not you needed it. That day, he had a rather overstuffed club sandwich and a side of fries, a coffee and iced tea... and a scowl on his face as he noticed the newspaper sitting between himself and the younger man next to him. "Are you reading that?" he asked Chandler, gesturing to the newspaper with the headline about the council meeting from earlier that month.

WHEN: End of Summer Bash (August, 2024)

Thank God for food, that was one thing Jason was sure of. While spending time at the beach was always fun and good, between the games of volleyball and the chasing after his nieces and nephews in the shallow waters, he was ready to fuel up before even thinking of being a regular ole human being again. Thankfully, there was no shortage of things to eat. He had already loaded up his plate with a baked potato and hot dog, was looking over some of the side options when he noticed someone nearby and pointed towards one of the bowls. "Did you make this?"

The coffee shop was quaint, quiet, close enough to City Park to give Josh a little respite afterwards, which he wouldn't complain about. Plus, it smelled heavenly, he had to admit, which was why he had found himself with a plate of food, sitting on the outdoor patio, a vegetarian panini in front of him, cup of espresso and bottle of water next to the plate. He had promised his parents that he would share daily updates of what he was doing in the big easy, had just snapped a photo of his food when he realized there was someone else nearby, looking up with a small, sheepish smile. "I swear I'm not about to change careers into food photography. Although you do enjoy photography, don't you?"
