CHALKBOX Change Challenge
I want to lose weight but I need help...
You have been doing CrossFit for some time now and you are getting better at the lifts, you understand the words AMRAP, WOD, EMOM and you have made a lot of new friends. But your weight isn't moving liked you hoped for yet.
If we look at the pyramid of health Nutrition is the foundation. A healthy diet is also the foundation of CrossFit and without it you won't perform as well, you won't progress as well and guess what, you won't lose body fat.
You might think you eat well and do not consume that many calories, but what did you eat yesterday? And if you can remember this then tell me what did you snack?
Every little snack, glass of juice or wine and so on will add to your daily calories. If you like to lose body fat you need to live on a calorie deficit. If you don't track your food you will never know if you are eating the correct amount.
Tracking your food might seem a bit time consuming in the beginning but it is super important if you like to lose body fat. Accuracy and consistency are important. During this phase, stay away from restaurants that don’t have their nutritional information available online. You need to be able to account for every meal, and a cheeseburger from one place might contain 600 calories while something that appears identical contains 1,500. Ideally, you’ll be prepping your own food for the greatest accuracy.
We are starting a new challenge for CHALKBOX members in September organised by Dr. Sinead Roberts, our nutritionist from Feed.Fuel.Perform.
How will it work?

TODAY IS THE DAY YOU START LOSING WEIGHT.
TODAY WILL BE THE START OF THE NEW YOU!
Today is the day
I decided to change my life. And I’m typing this while I’m supposed to study. Ironic, isn’t it?
Hey, my name is Skye and I’m currently graduating highschool. For the past year or so I’ve been struggling with mental health issues like anxiety and depression. And still I would describe myself as a loud and happy person when I’m with the right people.
I don’t know if it’s the best idea to start this project right now, with my last week of school coming up and everything changing regardless of what I do. But something needs to happen. So that’s why I’m here.
How am I gonna do it?
I want to readjust my mindset and fall in love with the simple things again. So I’ll try to be present, even in the most boring moments and count my blessings.
I want to find as many ways as possible to ease my anxiety. So every time I find one that works I will add it to a list.
I want to travel a lot and start a job. By travelling I don’t mean far journeys, even though I love these, but rather driving through the neighbourhood and exploring my local culture.
I want to document as much of my life as possible. I already started taking videos every time I’m with my friends but there has to be more.
I want to stop procrastinating which will be the hardest one. I mean, I mastered these skills over the course of almost 18 years.
I want to overcome my writers block and start getting more into photography again. I miss the feeling of being in love with my work.
And that’s it for now. I’m well aware that this is not really interesting for anybody but myself. My goal for this blog is to document my growth, to be proud of my baby steps and maybe, just maybe, someone wants to join me.
Starting today. 365 days left.
People that have somehow inspired me to do this:
Dottie James with her fantastic project
@emmastudies because of her 100 days of productivity challenge
Leonie because she thrives for change more than anybody else
And all of my friends for always seeing the best in me
