Lost WP Admin Password And No Email?
Q: Have your lost your WordPress password and you no longer have the same email address?
A: There is an easy way if you have a self hosted version of WordPress. Basically, all you need to do is login to your cpanel, then your database manager phpmyadmin and select the database with your WordPress installation.
Normally the database will start with a WP_. Then you look for the table titled users. Click on users link and then look for the admin details.
You will see a small edit link, click that and the admins records will show up. What you are looking for is a table called user_pass. Change the password to one you will remember. Then this part is important, click on the function box and then select MD5. Then go to the bottom of the page and click “Go”.
This will save your change and your new wp-login password. Go back to your login and use the new password. Now you can login.
If you want go to your profile page and change the password to something safe and make sure you save the new password somewhere safe.
Of course there is an easier way to recover your lost password and that is to use the lost password link on the login page, but that’s another story.
