Things to note: I'm not super fluent in Japanese, so I might misinterpret minor things, but I'll try my best! I attended Changero Sonic 2021 last Saturday virtually, it was a really enjoyable experience and it was a whole lot of fun seeing both old and new utaite come together and perform! This report will only mention VALSHE's segments / when she appears.
After an amazing DJ opening from Utsu-P, The stage lights up once more and we have the full cast on stage performing this year's theme "Life's Applause (人生に拍手喝采を)" , VALSHE appears on screen and was seen wearing a full-on rock-style outfit, a black leather jacket paired with a black turtleneck, with a choker that has a chain that goes down to her waist, topped with a military-style leather hat and half-gloves, she was seen standing side by side with ChouCho and MARiA on stage!
VALSHE's main performance was in the 4th act of the live, the stage opens with the prelude of "Butterfly On Your Right Shoulder", with her silhouette vaguely shown from the stage's purple lights, before she appears on the center of the stage, dressed in her UNIFY costume as the song starts, with the 10th-anniversary lyric video shown on screen. Though personally, I was pleasantly surprised she was wearing a different outfit from the opening! But it was nice seeing her in this outfit again,.
After the solo acts of nano and Choucho's, she joined the two on stage once more, now back to her previous black outfit, alongside alfakyun, MARiA, and hanatan (she wasn't on stage physically, but as a screen of her illustrated persona), and together they performed a group cover of "Roki" the stage was set up really cool! The opening had fireworks fizzling out at the front as the girls danced and sang along together. One of the highlights was Val and alfakyun shared one of the lines and they sang while looking at one another! They both had really powerful voices that mixed really well!
The show went on with PointFive's (asamaru, amu, dasoku, clear, and Mi-chan) performance, and for their last act they invited Kouhei, VALSHE, nano, ChouCho up on stage once more and together they performed an instant classic: Black Rock Shooter! It was really cool to see her performing together with PointFive, more so with a song that requires powerful vocals like hers! It was an amazing assemble.
With the 4th segment over the stream cuts to a mini-interview of ChouCho, Gero, nano, and VALSHE. I'm not good in Japanese, so I'm not quite sure what they had conversed here ;; but all I know is that it was endearing that nano and Val had similar styles and happen to match for this event (they pointed it out!) nano was also wearing a black leather jacket with a hoodie.
The 5th segment kicks off as Gero's solo acts, and towards the 4th song, he got VALSHE up on stage and they duetted to "Two Breaths Walking", which they both commented that they have covered before, Gero even complimented her amazing rock-styled outfit! In comparison to the soft, but fast-paced tone of the original, the two did their own take on a more rock-style version.
The final two songs for the live were past Changero Sonic theme songs: Mind Craft and Smiling, where we have the full assemble once more performing together! She was standing in between MARiA and hanatan for both songs, and with that, the live comes to a close, with everyone waving towards the screen goodbye (unfortunately Val wasn't shown for this part, but it was sweet nevertheless!)
