CHANGE IN DEFINITION OF FREEDOM So, I am writing my first blog and it seems that ThoughtSeal has given me quite the opportunity to make it public. So… let's get started. Yesterday was the Quit India Day. Mahatma Gandhi, the famous Indian freedom fighter, decided to give a final blow to the British Empire by initiating a civil disobedience movement. By that time, everyone had understood the need of freedom from foreign control. India was exploited from the moment the Mughals established their capital at Delhi till the freedom - which was obtained after a lot of struggle - on 15th August 1947. Now the freedom we're experiencing, we owe it all to the people who were martyred for this country. The dignity we get from the Fundamental Rights, the fact that justice will be done; these were considered luxury at that time. Even to publish something on the topic I am writing right now wasn't allowed. The people had to face discrimination and mental harassment all the time. This went out of the limit and there was an uprising. And we! We even express laziness in doing our daily homework! In my opinion, we should seriously consider taking a leaf out of the book of the people who experienced all that. The hard work, the patience, the tolerence; the implementation of all this has become necessary in the life of our short-tempered next generation. The aim of Indian Democracy will not be achieved unless we change our perspective. The number of crimes and presence of terrorism bring down the country from achieving success. History is taught to us so that we won't make the mistakes which have already been made in the past. It has been correctly said by Mr. Sam Levenson, "You should learn from the mistakes of others; you can't possibly live long enough to make them all yourself."
