Douglas Adam is better known for The Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy

Apparently, this book was revised from an unused Doctor Who story, and once I learned that, I couldn't unsee it. The Hitchhiker's Guide series might be funnier, but I think this book and it's sequel are cleverer. They almost have to be, considering the theme of the interconnectedness of all things! Also, the book is nothing like the recent TV series "adaptation."

Reading through Ursula K. Le Guin's novel *Changing Planes*, I think of how such places might work in magic: the gathering. A plane where everyone shares dreams could create a lotta cool drama, or a plane where genetic editing has gotten very out of hand. Strangely, there is one plane that we kinda have already seen in magic.

In the chapter *Great Joy* we see a plane that has been entirely commodified. Whole islands dedicated to all the different holidays from a very US evangelical perspective.

While not the same, we have seen an entire set dedicated to a theme park in Unfinity, but while a plane spanning theme park is cool, I wonder how much darker Thunder Junction would have been if it more heavily referenced something like Westworld, and it's entirely identity was essentialy a tourism city.

Changing Planes by Ursula K. Le Guin conveys through short stories everything Orson Scott Card wishes he could've written with his novel Speaker for the Dead.
