since everyone is talking about laika and felicette, and i never hear people mention these two, i present to you belka and strelka (they have other names, but are known mostly by these two). they went to space, flew around the earth 17 times, landed back safely and lived to old age! and they deserve to be remembered too

Went to my city's block party viewing of the 3rd place world cup match and it was such good vibes. The crowd was evenly split (I rooted for England and sat between two people rooting for France and in front of a Croatian lady wishing death to France and shouting expletives at them). The eastern European grandpa next to me was the absolute best and would high five my roommate for French goals and run to take calls from his doctor and then run back to the game. He gracefully admitted defeat at the end, and we all parted friends, satisfied that both teams played well and scored a LOT.
