To meditate is to watch the changing states of the mind, creating space between the thoughts/emotions and the sense of I or me. When we say 'I am angry' it only creates a more solid and permanent sense of the feeling. Instead focus attention on a physical sensation (like the breath at the nostrils or the hands resting on the abdomen) and watch the anger (or other emotions/thoughts) come and go as you continue to refocus on a bodily sensation. Much like stepping back from the shore weeds and watching them play in the wind. -------- teaching schedule this week @allyoganyc Tuesday 12pm Noon Class Tuesday 6pm Dynamic Hatha Tuesday 8pm Vinyasa (sub for Julia) Friday 5:30pm Friday Night Yoga @douyogabrooklyn Friday 12pm Weekday Wake-up (sub for @willyam___ ) @suryaside Saturday 8:30am Gentle Vinyasa Sunday 10am Gentle Vinyasa #changingstatesofmind #meditation #mindfulness #nycyoga #queensyoga #brooklynyoga #practicinghumanity #allyoganyc #suryasideyoga #douyoga #flushingmeadowscoronapark #wind #citynature (at Flushing Meadows Park)
