Perhaps he should just blame himself because he paid as much attention to the road as the biker did.
It was exam results day and Kyungsoo’s attention was completely fixated on that one error he made. To another person, perhaps this would have meant nothing but for Kyungsoo, this was a mistake worth stressing over for days. He strived for perfection, after all, and knew from day one this would be a difficult path to walk down.
What happened was fairly straightforward: the biker and Kyungsoo collided because they were both deep in their own thoughts. Kyungsoo, being the unlucky pedestrian weighed down by an armful of textbooks and a bag of groceries, took the brunt of it. He fell backward and attempted to lessen the impact of his fall by putting a hand on the ground. Terrible mistake, because an audible crack could be heard when he finally landed, accompanied by a sharp pain in his wrist.
It hurt a lot but Kyungsoo had never been the type to be overly vocal about his pain. So, other than a low hiss, the college student decided mostly to suffer in silence. “Help me grab that orange?” Kyungsoo asked, tiny beads of sweat forming above his brow from the unexpected injury. The fruits he’d purchased were rolling all over the place and he refused to lose any of them. Those oranges were on the dinner menu and he was not about to let this incident put a hole in his precious schedule.
