Tsukiko didn’t need her traps this time to realize someone was in her territory. She was walking along a path heading to the river to fish for dinner when she noticed a figure collapsed by a tree. Instantly on alert she drew a dagger, but then she recognized who it was. She had seen this medic before, she had been peaceful. Putting the Dagger away Tsukiko warily approached the woman.
Before she could speak, a bell rang somewhere in the distance. Someone had triggered one of her traps. Cursing under her breath she drew her dagger again and warily turned her back on the injured woman.
“She went this way” voices rang in the distance.
Tsukiko wrinkled her nose “foolish trespassers”
There were 3…no 4 men in the group and 2 more hanging back.
“Hold your breath” She commanded the woman at her back
Addled as she is, Reika still picks up the approaching presence, able to loll her head over and take in who’s there. For a moment she can’t help a flicker of shock - it’s...it’s that woman! Did she really stumble here again, of all places? But before she can even attempt an apology, or an explanation...her accidental companion sheaths her blade.
...well, at least it seems she’s been convinced she’s not a threat.
Glancing to the sound as well, Reika’s brow furrows. A bell...one of the lone woman’s traps? Shit, did they manage to follow her this far?! There’s a groan, head tilting against the trunk at her back. “...damn...”
Heeding the warning, Reika does one better - lifting the hand not braced against the puncture wounds along her side, she erects a barrier over herself to block whatever’s coming next. Hold her breath? Must be airborne toxin, then. Once she ensures it’s airtight, she manages a shallow nod of assent before working to draw out the venom in her veins. It’ll be slow going...but at least it looks like she’s been bought some time. She should have the chakra reserves to hopefully manage both.
She owes a debt, now. And she’ll be damn sure to repay it twofold.
