Lokius (Doki) hug!
…
What he wanted to do was far more vulnerable, something that - a good few weeks prior - he never would have considered bestowing upon a human.
If he stood there any longer, contemplating his conflicting views and feelings, he would lose the moment.
Loki decided.
He shut off all other precolections and opened his arms, gently wrapping them around Don’s broad but rounded shoulders. To his surprise, he was embraced immediately, Don’s hand patting him gently in the centre of his spine.
Loki grasped at him, tipping his head down onto his shoulder.
“Are you sure you’re okay? What’s all this for?” Don said, the vibrations of his voice gentle as they passed through to Loki, chest to chest.
Loki closed his eyes, fingers shifting subtly to cling to Don’s sleepshirt.
Don could feel his nerves, Loki could tell, as his friend hugged him tighter, securing his arms around his waist.
Loki’s chest burned with the intimacy of the hold, of how it soaked into his veins and made him feel enlivened yet docile and content.
He hummed subtly and prayed Don didn’t hear it. He was warm and he smelt lovely, like coming home after a long and hard battle in a far off world.
“I don’t know,” Loki said quietly.
Don patted him again, a tender hand running across Loki’s shoulder blades.
“I know you won’t hurt me,” Don murmured, “So don’t worry. I’m not going to send you away. You’re my friend.”
Loki’s fingers balled up the shirt he had in his grip, nose pressed firmly into the bone of Don’s shoulder.
It was the longest hug he had received in months.
