Jean had never been one for sitting on her hands and letting everybody else tear into the problem that had presented itself. The current situation in New York, after all, was pretty close to her ballpark. She had been possessed by a cosmic entity of origins unknown, and now something or someone had lifted New York from earth and deposited it in the middle of the cosmos, far from any conceivable star system, and leaving everyone rather panicked about the whole event. If Jean could help out in any way using her experiences, she would, especially considering the fact she was desperately grasping for anything good in the whole Phoenix saga. Demons weren’t exactly her field of expertise, though, so when she went to venture outside the city boundaries, she had called up a man who advertised himself using some very colourful language.
She was confident that within seconds of meeting the man she could work out if he was just another con artist, or if he genuinely had insight into this area. They had agreed to meet at the city boundaries well before curfew - breaking one law would be more than enough for tonight, after all, though Jean doubted wandering off even counted as illegal - and Jean arrived early as always. She was surprised to find the man from the photograph there already, and a smile came over her face as she walked up, extending her hand for him to shake.
“It’s lovely to put a face to the name,” Jean said warmly. “Jean Grey, of the X-Men. We spoke on the phone. Thank you so much for agreeing to meet with me. I’m guessing you’re just as curious about what’s going on out there as everyone else, huh?”
