The fact that Maw is, effectively, over. I don’t know what to say. Maw was my first D&D game (home game DNI) and Lander will always be my first character. Jumping in headfirst as a 12th level character? Wild. But the ride was worth it. Going in as as angry boy who went in, having just lost his sister even as he avenged his family. Coming out as a man who’s purpose is to remember. Remember the people who were lost in the Maw. Remember the people who would otherwise be forgotten. That’s been his Deal the whole time, even if I didn’t realize. Everything he’s done, he’s done in memory of his family. His first quest was to avenge them. Going to the Maw was to get Mara back. He wrote down the names of everyone he knew in the Maw, just to try and remember. As soon as he realized people were forgetting, that was his first instinct. And now here he is. Saving the people stuck inside, remembering the people who are lost. Idk what I’m trying to say except that Lander is incredibly important to me, that I’ll carry him with me for a long time.
