Zetta + Aelita + Adam (Rejuvenation) and Cal + Bennett + Ace (Reborn) for character bingo?
Shamelessly picking some of my favorites because the bingos are cool to see!
I'll start with the Rejuv bingos
Zetta's a pretty cool guy! Though the part where it was revealed he was actually a Solosis/Melia-clone genuinely made me go 'wtf?!?!?'. Admittedly, I was sort-of-but-not-really got spoiled about his relation to Melia, which made me come up with the theory he was Melia's son from the future... thinking back, it was not that far off, but I was super embarassed when it got debunked lol.
Next up is Aelita's bingo! Aelita's among my top three favourite characters from Rejuvenation, right behind Erin and Melia. She's that one peppy, supportive friend we wish we had irl (or at least, that's the kind of friend I would want in my life). Tbh, I feel that she gives out autistic vibes, and I hc'd her as neurodivergent.
For the last of the rejuv characters, we have Adam! Tbh, Adam is pretty... meh. His appearances during the Blacksteeple/Terajuma arcs are alright, but his flamboyant-ness in his appearances during the GDC arc kinda kills it for me (that opinion curdled like milk when I got to Saki’s Nightmare Realm. Now I just want to wrap him up in a blanket and give him a big hug for the shit the androids put him plus his friends through, yikes...). Fortunately, he’s made a comeback at the climax of Chapter 14. Let’s be real, that scene where he activates the Spring of Rejuvenation while Flora was left sputtering in the background was fucking badass.
Alright, with the rejuv characters out of the way, now let’s move on to the Reborn characters! I’m starting with Cal for this list, and... I actually kinda like him. He’s not one my all-time favourites, but he’s not among my disliked characters either. But seriously, this guy needs a lot of love! He doesn’t deserve all the traumatic shit that happened to him in the maingame and before. (Between you and me, I was shocked when I found out he was gay... he gives out some serious aroace vibes imo)
Next up, we have Bennett! At first, I don’t like him all that much. Mostly because of his simping for Luna (which understandably creeps her out) but after he mellowed out during the events of E19 he was pretty alright. His appearances during the postgame quests are some of his best moments, actually, especially in the Victini Quest.
Finally, we have our favourite magician - Ace! Honestly, this bingo does not do my thoughts on them justice. They’ve fleshed out the maingame’s plotline in a way that’s just... I have no words for it, but it was fucking awesome to the point I was constantly looking forward to their next appearance if only to see what kind of funny things they were going to say next. Which only made their death in the WTC all the more sad... (thankfully they were brought back)
