I think it’s really interesting Jax used the sound of the sink as a grounding method (1: as if he’s done it before) and two because in the first episode he mentions “quiet I can’t hear the escalator” so I think this means Jax finds low rhythmic sounds relaxing
Maybe this plays into him being a rabbit? Idk
About Nodame Cantabile (a rant/long post)
Nodame Cantabile is so much more than a girl trying to get the guy. It's about a girl who didn't want anything to do with her skills due to some trauma. Her love for music was reduced to doing things that didn't really fit her personality or what she loved. Is the story about a girl who lost the drive and respect for music. Nodame is the story of a girl who needed some kind of push for her to love music again. Chiaki gave her that little push, only for her to realize that maybe it was alright to follow a path alongside him. Nodame is the story about a selfish piano student who had to learned how to fall in love with music and how to love a man. (I'm not sure if she learned the second one though... is true that Chiaki treated her bad... but Nodame treated him badly as well... lol). It's about a girl and a guy in the road of finding themselves through music, since they were pretty lost in their own ghosts of the past when they found each other. Nodame is a story about a girl who learned how to be a woman and a pianist, with her own terms and her own rules. Nodame Cantabile is a music appreciation class. Chiaki had to learn gentleness, patience and humbleness. Nodame had to learn to listen, to be patient, to find her reason to be, to grow up. You see, this a story about finding music and love. About how arrogance and cynicism itself confronts stubbornness and selfishness. About how these things can cloud your mind into chosing the right path. It's okay not to like it, but to reduce the whole story to "boy meets girl, girl falls in love and he doesn't but she follows him anyway and he is a dick to her and she is a victim, and she doesn't have self respect" is very simplistic, not to mention, is flat-out wrong. Nodame was pushy and she had many, many faults that she, herself refused to change during a long time. She was possesive and didn't know the meaning of "boundaries", she was too dependent, lazy and trapped in her comfort zone, someone who didn't love her skills and marked them as a curse. Chiaki had a superiority complex, he was whimsical, a cynic, trapped in negativism, he was a perfectionist, and was bound to achive that perfection even if he had to walk over everyone's self-esteem . They were a match made in hell. Chiaki taught Nodame how to listen, that boundaries were necessary to achieve what they both wanted, she learned from him that with laziness and the comfort zone she was not going to go anywhere. Nodame started to appreciate her skill thanks to him. He taught her how to be an adult and accept what is inevitable. (Work is work, he couldn't deny... though he was still a stalk up asshole) Nodame taught Chiaki the wonders of trusting people, of being nice to people, she pushed him at her will to make his dreams come true by his own hand. That it was okay to be dependent, that cynicism and arrogance were in his way of becoming what he wanted to become. She taught him the that not being perfect is not that bad, that is okay to open up, that is okay to be selfish and carve his own way to the top. Though he would always try to do things the best way he could. Cantabile: like singing a song. Free, unexpected, playful. Is true the story revolves around Chiaki... but Nodame was the one who let find out who he was and what he wanted to become by being alongside him, as well as Nodame found a new dream. Although his typical arrogance made him take wrong decisions that he regretted later on. (And oh boy! Nodame made him regret it so much she broke his heart... ohmy! There were a lot of times I lost count -SPOILER ALERT-: betrayed his cooking once or twice, refused to accept his offer to study piano and orchestra after the Rachmaninoff concert, lied to him when she disappeared to go to her hometown, made love to him and then ran off to make a concert with Milch-that pained him so much it was almost like she had slept with another guy lol-, only for her to dissappear once again for a week, and then she kinda broke up with him... -well I never understood what Chiaki meant in the last chapter-... etc.) Anyway, Nodame Cantabile is about two imperfect people working together to become their best. And that's the beauty of Nodame Cantabile. I just wanted to rant about it, since I saw some comments on the internet that made me cringe.

[It just sounds like it makes Victor seem fickle and will take whichever of the girls he can get.]
((Eeh. . .I can see that interpretation, but I rather like the idea of him feeling like he never fit in Upstairs, and wondering if the whole Corpse Bride thing happened for a reason.))
