I have to confess.. I.. am a twilight hater Yes I know tomato tomato tomato. but growing up I wasn't putting myself in place of her - so this is the second part of my mega tangent...
anyway.. on top of my last rant- the fact she basically took credit for all her friends friendship problems and sent them off as documented reports to Celestia- Freaked out on her friends and put them in danger that friendship problem episode with the "smartypants" doll…
as well as her alwaysjust shoving herself into places and taking over things because she was going to "do it better".. just rubbed me wrong (She's the main character you say? yeah well I didn't like her?) Mayor mare do your job - Amethyst starr I'm sorry the nepo baby noble stole your job. (It was offhandedly said but Amethyst used to organize everything before Twilight)
That's also what… made me not like her- she's supposed to be the socially awkward loser who needs friends to be successful but. She has a loving family, she has nobility status due to living in canterlot, being the protege and friend of the princess, her brother is married to a princess (THAT BABY-SITTED HER)… she would have had a wonderful life despite any of this..
It did not make me feel connected to her at all. what? the girl who has everything ? I'm supposed to connect and be her? what? .. and she basically doesn't like the pony I relate to alot.. hm.. okay. and don't get me started on how every time they become "friends" with a villian she actively doesn't actually treat them like a friend.
Discord- we know he's only friends with fluttershy Starlight- She makes her a student and just dumps her in the castle (it was nice that she didn't leave her homeless like trixie but bro.. you are not her friend?) Also the power dynamic is off... (we'll get into that another time) Sunset- she's actively there to fix problems not be friends with her - (" shes busy"). Invite her back to canterlot to chill- reconcile with Celestia normally. No? ...okay then It really seems to me she only bothered to maintain the relationships of value to equestria and Celestia... nothing else. Everyone else has friends outside of the group. Not Twilight? not that I remember.. hmmmmmmmm.... Seems like the princess of friendship is not friendshipping???
