I'm a little late but happy new year! 🎊 I made a few more character work sheets for you all. I left off the Lego OC title so you can use them for any OC. I also made a very simple story worksheet for those who are doing any of that. You could also use that one for any OC for what happens to them during those parts of a story.

What a year 2025 was. A lot happened to me both good and less good. I am super happy to have ended the year feeling much better than when I started. I was hospitalized twice this year once at the beginning and the other near the end, thankfully I was finally able to get the surgerie I needed and am finally feeling good.

I got Ninjago comics I want to do this year as well as finish artworks I didn't finish last year. I have been thinking about joining art fight for a long time too but I'm not sure. If things are going well then I might try it. Here's hoping for a great 2026!

Character Questionnaire 2- Saoirse

Gotham Writers’ Workshop Character Questionnaire 2

This questionnaire was invented by the noted French author Marcel Proust. These questions are frequently used in interviews so you may want to pretend you’re interviewing your characters.

-I’m still doing this for Saoirse! Answering in character.

• What do you consider your greatest achievement?

“My greatest achievement is summoning my familiar and good friend Crevan, even if I’m still not sure how I did it! Don’t tell anyone it was a complete screw up though, hehe.”

• What is your idea of perfect happiness?

“Perfect happiness is a cup of tea and a peaceful evening. Everyone’s safe, everyone’s free to do their own thing, and I get to spend time with the people I love! That’s the stuff.”

• What is your current state of mind?

“I’d say I’m fairly calm, just thinking about the work I have ahead of me.”

• What is your favorite occupation?

“I love tracking the stars and using them to help me cast spells! It may seem slow and dull, but the stars are mysterious and there’s so much we can learn from the stories they might hold!”

• What is your most treasured possession?

“It’s my grimoire, hands down. It’s like a witch’s diary, it’s just chock full of useful information and personal notes!”

• What or who is the greatest love of your life?

“....Don’t tell anyone, but I’ve been in love with my best friend Coby for a while now. I just have to muster up the courage to actually ask her out still, hah.”

• What is your favorite journey?

“I visited the good neighbors once on accident when I was little. A witch’s daughter generally shouldn’t wander in the woods alone! Initially the Queen didn’t want to give me back, but momma figured her way around that one somehow. It was so surreal though.”

• What is your most marked characteristic?

“I’d say it’s my shock-white hair! I inherited it from my dad, and the brownies of the house really seem to like it.”

• When and where were you the happiest?

“When I summoned Crevan from the valley in the woods in the dead of night, it was a really really special moment. It was both the culmination of everything I’ve worked for and a happy gigantic accident. It was odd, but really exciting!”

• What is it that you most dislike?

“I hate when I’m not taken seriously. I know not everything I say seems normal, but I don’t lie to people or say meaningless stuff!”

• What is your greatest fear?

“My greatest fear is that I’m letting people down, or that I’ll let them down when it matters most. I think that’s part of why I’m really perfectionistic.”

• What is your greatest extravagance?

“We have some really great apple trees in the back yard!! It lets us make some great great sweets during harvest time. Seriously though, the most extravagant thing I own is a star sapphire pendant. It’s for special occasions only.”

• Which living person do you most despise?

“I had a bully throughout elementary and middle school, and while they’ve laid off they’re still kind of an asshole and I have a bone to pick with them.”

• What is your greatest regret?

“My greatest regret right now is just all the times I’ve screwed up talking to Coby. Talking with feelings is tough, and there were a few times where things got really tense and weird. I wish it wasn’t like that.”

• Which talent would you most like to have?

“I’d love to be able to paint! I’ve got enough artistic skill to draw a magic circle when I have to, but beyond that I’m kind of artistically helpless. Watercolors seem fun, though.”

• Where would you like to live?

“To be honest? I love the mountains. I don’t think I’d trade them for anything.”

• What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

“Grief.”

• What is the quality you most like in a man?

“HAH. MEN.”

• What is the quality you most like in a woman?

“I love her smile, and how she gets when she’s excited about something. And she’s just so huggable…”

• What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

“I will get really really enthusiastic, burn out, and then just be lethargic forever. It’s not good.”

• What is the trait you most deplore in others?

“I hate it when people aren’t willing to work for what they want. It just seems so weird and kinda stupid to me!”

• What do you most value in your friends?

“I need my friends to be people I can lean on when I get burnt out.”

• Who is your favorite hero of fiction?

“You know the versions of the Frog Prince where the frog is a really cool guy? I like him. He’s a good little frog prince guy.”

• Whose are your heroes in real life?

“Mary Shelley and Joan of Arc.”

• Which living person do you most admire?

“Have you heard the band Tank and the Bangas? Tank seems like a really cool woman, someone I’d love to meet for sure, oh gosh.”

• What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

“If any of them, chastity.  May not be my thing, but let people do them their way.”

• On what occasions do you lie?

“I get super worried about hurting people’s feelings and might lie then if I know I can get away with it.”

• Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

“ I use out-there idioms more than the normal person should. Silly stuff like ‘a leopard can’t change it’s spots’ or ‘as pure as the driven snow’. Blame momma.”

• If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

“I wish that my nose wasn’t as big sometimes.”

• What are your favorite names?

“This is gonna sound silly, but I love my own name! Look at it, it’s spelled s-a-o-i-r-s-e but somehow it’s said ‘seer shah’! Isn’t that cool?!”

• How would you like to die?

“I wanna die doing something epic, after doing epic things with my life.”

• If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?

“I wanna come back as a star, which when you think about the long long long term, it’s probably not impossible.”

• What is your motto?

“Chan ann leis a’chiad bhuille thuiteas a’chraobh. (It is not with the first stroke that the tree falls.)”

Character Questionnaire 1- Saoirse

• What is your character’s name? Does the character have a nickname? Her name is Saoirse (seer-shah) Byrne, and she has no nicknames.

• What is your character’s hair color? Eye color? Her hair is white, and her eyes are a blue-grey.

• What kind of distinguishing facial features does your character have? Her face is wide, she has a larger nose, and her eyelashes and eyebrows are also white.

• Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it? What about scars? How did he get them? The only distinguishing marks on her are stretch marks along her inner thighs, hips, and upper arms.

• Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does she surround herself with? Who are the people your character is closest to? Who does he wish he were closest to? Saoirse lives with her mother and father, Rioghnach (ree-uh-nah) and Absalon Byrne. She keeps a few close friends, namely a changeling boy named Oliviet and another witch named Coby. She’s also accompanied by her familiar, Crevan. Saoirse loves Coby very much and wishes to be closest to her.

• Where was your character born? Where has she lived since then? Where does she call home? Saoirse was born in a small town in the mountains. She hasn’t lived anywhere else, and prefers it this way.

• Where does your character go when he’s angry? She wanders off into the mountains, or if it’s night time she’ll often just climb onto the roof to brood.

• What is her biggest fear? Who has she told this to? Who would she never tell this to? Why? Her biggest fear is not leaving any impact on the world. There’s something terrifying about being forgotten to her. She’s told this to Coby and touched on it with Crevan, but would never tell her parents. She knows it’s not entirely rational and just doesn’t want to bring it up with her mother, and knows that anything she tells her father will likely get back to her.

• Does she have a secret? Saoirse’s secret is that she’s been negotiating with the fae ever since her father was in an accident. Occasionally she’s given too much for too little out of her own stubbornness.

Saoirse is usually the one other people ask to keep their secrets. She’s holding onto a few personal fears of her friends.

• What makes your character laugh out loud? It’s somewhat hard to make Saoirse actually laugh aloud, you’re more likely to get a giggle or happy sigh. She does find freudian slips and incessant repetition of inside jokes to be really funny though.

• When has your character been in love? Had a broken heart? Saoirse is in love with Coby (their relationship grows to full-blown and healthy later in the larger story, starts as an awkward mutual crush). She hasn’t dated anyone else.

Then dig deeper by asking more unconventional questions: • What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? On her bedroom floor? On her nightstand? In her garbage can? In her fridge there’s some milk, half-and-half, some fruits, plenty of vegetables, and a few pieces of leftover spice cake made by her dad. Her bedroom floor is clean save for some paper scraps and some wax drips that have yet to come out. Her nightstand has a star map projector clock, her dream journal, and a tin of spearmint mints; the drawer has a few books on the night sky, the moon, and general spells as well as a Kafkaesque horror novel stuffed inside. Her garbage can is mostly candle stubs, scrapped sketches, apple cores, and candy wrappers.

• Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother? Her favourite shoes are her red flats, which she wears with tights or no show socks. If she knows she’s spending the day in the woods however, she’s going to wear her leather hiking boots and comfy socks.

• When your character thinks of her childhood kitchen, what smell does she associate with it? Sauerkraut? Oatmeal cookies? Paint? Why is that smell so resonant for her? Saoirse’s home kitchen smells of witching herbs and her father’s kitchen projects. Namely sweet, accented with the lemon and grapefruit used for cleansing the home. The most notable spiced smells were cinnamon and nutmeg. Spearmint is her favourite tea, and it also brings fond memories of tea time in the kitchen.

• Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for her to throw out? What is difficult for her to part with? Why? Saoirse can’t touch journals or grimoires: if it has some writing that seems valuable, she can’t get rid of it. She’s really good at decluttering and organizing things by size to make things take up less space though.

• It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Give details. If he’s eating breakfast, whatexactly does he eat? If she’s stretching out in her backyard to sun, what kind of blanket or towel does she lie on? She’s probably having spearmint tea and a snack or is out with her familiar in the woods practicing magic. She might be casting spells, gathering supplies, or just learning about the world around her.

• What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting? On Saoirse’s 7th birthday, her father baked her an apple torte and served it with ice cream (a rarity, since you had to go to town to the grocer for it and that was a while away). Oliviet came over, and a few neighbors visited (including their more than human neighbors) . Everyone ate and laughed and had a good time, and it made Saoirse really appreciate other people and making them happy.

• Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is she going? What does she wear? Who will she be with? If she goes out, she’s probably going out with Coby. While they usually spend a lot of time in nature together, sometimes they’ll take the train into town and go out to eat and gather special materials from herb shops and hardware stores and fabric shops. It’s exciting, but hectic. They just dress down a little.
