When Comes the Dawn Writing Update |
I just finished writing the chapter where Sola is introduced and reunited with Fenice after a long time, and we’re finally getting into the murder-mystery aspect of the story along with all of the court intrigue.
“You know that I would do anything for you, even without the pretense of gifts.”
“I know.” She inclined her head, silver eyes downcast. “But it is because I know this that I feel I must give you a gift. Especially for what I must ask you to do.”
We also got a very brief--an awkward--interaction between Charles and Fenice who met each other for the first time. I actually reused a scene I had written for @yourocbackstory’s event.
Fenice looked up, and it was not Sola Eidos who came as she expected.
It was Charles.
Thirteen and ruddy-faced, already a burgeoning Adonis in his youth. His hair, so dark a brown it almost appeared black, clung to his face. His white tunic clung to his torso, smeared with dirt and dust, which were tucked into black breeches.
Her nose twitched at the stench of sweat that lingered around his frame but steeled herself from the urge to pinch her nose and leave.
“May I help you?” She said, eyes boring into his silver ones.
He blinked owlishly at her, head imperceptibly jerked up at the sound of her voice. “I--um...yes?”
On a side note: I’m really thinking of aging up my characters (well, mainly Fenice and Charles) because I really want to get into certain aspects of their backstory/relationship with others, but being the age they’re mostly at right now (16 and under), bringing that stuff up would just be weird.
New ages:
Fenice: previous 15, now 18
Charles: previously 13, now 16
Everyone else is the same
