Made you feed the chickens on your first morning, even though I knew you hated birds. Watched you squeal and trip over your own feet while I leaned on the fence, grinning like the idiot I am. Told you the cow’s name was Margaret—she’s actually called Bessie—and nearly died laughing when you cooed “Come here, Margaret” for ten minutes straight.

You never let it slide, though. Always had some snarky comment ready, always rolled your eyes at me like I was a bug on your designer sunglasses.
