Peppermint Patty debuted 54 years ago today in a Peanuts strip published on August 22, 1966. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ ⚾ An all-star athlete and a hapless student, Patricia Reichardt is known as "Peppermint Patty" among friends. With her stringy brown hair, freckles, and trademark sandals, she is the only character to call Charlie Brown "Chuck" and think that Snoopy is a kid, not a dog. Her extroversion and gregariousness mixed with a pervasive insecurity and vulnerability make her a complex and much beloved character among fans!⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 🍬 "Patty has been a good addition for me, and I think could almost carry another strip by herself.
