Happy STS from the Creators' Club. I hope you're having a wonderful day. Do you ever switch POVs in your writing, and if so, how do you keep each voice distinct?
I'm having a pretty good day, thanks for asking!
I actually tend to switch POVs a couple times, though usually there's one main POV, the main character, and then for a scene or a chapter or two I'll switch. Usually it's for a scene or chapter where the main character doesn't know something, or for something very important to the plot that they wouldn't do, but someone else might.
As for keeping their voices distinct, for me that's more of a character trait thing. If I have the character's as unique individuals, they should already have distinct voices, which make for unique POVs. Their thoughts, what's going on in their heads, will be different from each other as long as they are, themselves, different characters.
Thanks for the question, I liked it!
