I've always played DA on console, but I just got a new laptop and decided to get DAO for it to try out some mods. But I can't seem to find a chargenmorph file anywhere? Is that something that I'm supposed to have already that the game generated, or is that something mods have? Because my packages/core/override folder is completely empty. Thanks!

Hi, the vanilla file is in one of the game archives! You could extract it but you usually don’t need to do that.Most chargen mods will already have their own modified chargenmorph included, so generally you just pick that up, move it somewhere easily find-able within override and keep on merging as you pick up more mods (since you can only have one of those in override for it to work)

Some mod authors will indeed assume you already have one because ofcs everyone has one from another mod already, but that’s not very common.

Hello! I love your hair mods, but I am having a problem with two of the dredlock styles for HM. Nouk Dreads Updo, and Dreadlocks (Lliira08) from showing in either the CC or the toolset. I have all the files, and did install them in my override... but chargenmorph says that Lliira08 is a bad reference (I had to guess at the resource name, as one was not provided), and in CC both just show an empty head... no hair whatsoever. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So, I have checked the two styles and their files and both styles show up in my game.

Have you those edit in your chargenfile? Do not copy them from this post or the hairstyles will not show up!

I have used the compiler only a few times and that was when I started to use mods years ago. IIRC it means that files are missing in the override folder.

You can see the head without a scalp and the hairstyle -> typo in the chargen line or missing files in the override folder.

You can see the hair but the texture has a pistachio colour and the hair is a bit floating -> typo in the mao file.

You can see the hairstyle but it has a transparent looking texture -> typo in the hair texture filename or missing texture file.

Hello! A while back I asked for help adding a head morph. I recently had to get a new hard drive and so I'm putting mods back into my game but the head morph in adding keeps string the red exclamation mark. I followed the answer I got last time but got same result. Any idea as to what I may be doing wrong?

...well, this ask has been sitting here a while, sorry about that D: (tbh i’m quietly hoping you managed to solve this on your own, but shh, gonna answer this anyway)

I can only presume you are using the tool for combining the chargenmorph files, which I can unfortunately be only of limited help with... I’ve been editing mine by hand for years now.

If it’s throwing up some sort of error I assume either the tool cannot find the preset in your override, or you made a typo somewhere in the name/format of the xml tag thing you use to put in the preset. Look for missing (or unnecessary!) slashes, backslashes, quotation marks, spaces etc.It might also be worth it to examine some lines directly over it in the file for mistakes, in case there is an improperly closed tag messig things up above
