While I’m on the mend, I’ve taken up some training with Chief and her wife; apparently Kyojin is some crazy samurai warrior on top of a badass. Learning how to use this sword so I can start swinging people down proper when I’m back up and running.

sometimes i am truly beboggled by the size of the fish we catch

looka this bad boy i just got:

an ilm is an inch, so this is around 87 feet long. if you, like me, have difficulty visualizing measurements, maybe this will help put that into perspective:

also the fish guide description for problematicus is really fucking good and i must include it.

it's icon & portrait suggests it's some kind of lava-based basking shark. basking sharks typically only reach 8 feet in length in the real world, by comparison. and i wonder if the size of the fish is related to zone level at all. i started filling out my fish guide starting with realm reborn/lv 50 content, and i am getting close to finishing out heavensward at this point. i might be wrong (i doubt it) but problematicus is the biggest fish i've caught so far. the sizes in endwalker zones must be absolutely ridiculous if the sizes keep getting bigger o_o

anyway. thanks for reading my fish thoughts. :D

Carried in by Nugget were two boxes, one of which had a note attached by a viper stylized ribbon to Charging Thunder.

Hey Charging,

I’m assuming Kyojin opened her gift first, and probably realized what it did quickly, and then you probably freaked out a little internally but didn’t show it. Don’t worry. Your gift is a nullstone, a kind of magick stone that can nullify magick around it. This one has a pretty decent radius, but definitely enough to nullify Kyojin when you’re next to her. Just in case it’s needed. Activates when you squeeze it.

Inside of the box was an unassuming, off-white stone. Just like the note said, when squeezed it nullified the magick in a small radius around it. Not the strongest enchantment, but enough for a single magi at least.

Left on Charging Thunder’s doorstep was a small box, next to another small box marked for Kyojin, with a small note atop. Inside the box was a whetstone.

Charging Thunder,

Keep your axe sharp because we both know it’s better than a sharp mind. Never been a problem that can’t be solved with a sharp axe.

A leather bound tome was left on Charging Thunder’s desk, with a note stuck behind the cover. The content of the tome was information on all manner of beasts, from legends and real accounts, across Hydaelyn.

Charging Thunder,

You’re an amazing director to work with, and an even better friend to have. Your strength and determination is an inspiration to everyone you meet, and your fierce loyalty is something we all rely on in hard times. I hope this tome serves you well in your hunts and maybe gives you some advantages against the more wily creatures.
