Episode 22 - Charioce's motives 2/2

(or aka the episode where Jeanne declares a war and Charioce's motives are explained)

So Nina has Charioce down on the ground.

Now here's where it gets really interesting. For someone who has done everything up until now for his grand plan, Charioce seemingly gives up.

When he says "What's the matter? Do it!" to me it seems like this is Chris, desperately asking if he could just remove his destiny. At that moment it's like he wants to be done with all of it. A chopped off hand is a small price to pay for a different life without the pressure of saving the world?

He could have moved when Nina raised the sword with both hands. I mean he probably could have kicked out too. And yet he does nothing.

But of course Nina can't harm him in any way.

As he rises and Nina collapses I paused on the frame and he just looks so sad.

He doesn't even harm her after that, just puts his sword away again and as he does he is back to being Charioce. Though he can't help look at NIna collapsed at the ground.

Perhaps if Charioce had explained his plan he would have become a more likable character. But that's not his way. Charioce has never wasted energy on something he deems useless at this point. Why bother to explain? Charioce thinks he will die soon.

Charioce is also someone who loathes showing weakness and yet he can't stop the shaking of his hand and glares at Favaro for noticing it.

I think when he says that "Results require a cost" it's his way of telling Nina that he will die.

She calls his name and he looks back again. To tell her to sort of give up on him?

Charioce also says nothing to Favaro's deductions. It's true the Onyx Captain said that Nina was killed. It's not exactly true that Charioce didn't order Jeanne's kid to be killed. El's powers perhaps weren't an issue at that time so long as El didn't stop him and the Onyx team from using it against Bahamut. Which is a moot point because El is no longer a threat.

So going back to the issue at hand which is Bahamut. Chris still wants Nina to be safe so he tells them to leave. He knows she will find a way. I mean Nina can change into a dragon so supposedly she should be able to fly out of there. After all, she has escaped many times before.

And then this damn look. Just one last look. As if it's Chris telling himself his life would be worth it. For her.

Charioce and Nina cute scenario

Like five years ago I wrote this scenario for a blog that I used to have here on tumblr. This is so cute and I wasn't that bad at writing escenarios... ^^

King Charioce was in his room getting changed with the help of all his maids when someone knocked on the door. Just after the door opened behind it appeared a young girl with short hair.

"Excuse me, can I come in?" she said wile entering to the room, but got frozen at the moment when she noticed that the handsome king was standing there shirtless.

"I'm really sorry!!" She shouted at realising the situation and ran out of the room, closing the door behind her very quickly.

Nina stood there with her back against the door covering her blushing face with both of her hands. "I hate this body" she thought while trying to calm down, but suddenly the door opened and Nina panicked at the situation worried at how the king will react at the incident.

One of the maids appeared, "You may come in" she said standing at the right side of the door. Nina stepped inside and all the maids left the room, making her more nervous at the situation.

King Charioce was looking from the window with a serious look, admiring the capital that he ruled. "Did you need anything?" He asked her with serious tone in his voice and turned around to face her.

" Yes " she said decided but still with her blushing face, " you still haven't explained why did you disguised yourself as a commoner and danced with me" she continued explaining with her gaze on the floor.

Charioce chuckled and stepped closer to her placing gently his hand on her chin making her look up, so this way she looked at him in the eyes.

He stayed quiet for a wile just looking at her with a soft smile, until he broke the silence.

"Dance with me" he simply said and Nina looked at him shocked and blushing even more if that was possible. "What are you saying so suddenly?" She replayed with low voice from the embarrassment. "I said dance with me, and then I will tell you the reason of my actions".

She really wanted to dance with him again like the night of the festival, the night that she discovered that what she felt was true love. But she knew that he wasn't the person that she thought that he was that night.

Nina remembered Jeanne's words " If you accept even the bad things it way be true love" and seen his smile, the smile that made her fall for him, she decided to accept his proposal.

"Okay, but we don't have music to dance..." she told him remembering that detail. " We don't need it right now, I just need you in order to dance." Charioce simply responded as he held Nina's hand.

They started dancing and at the beginning Nina was a little bit nervous but watching Charioce smiling confidently at her made her embarrassment fade away.

The king was holding her closer, with a hand in her hips and the other holding her hand, wile they where spinning around all over the room. They were dancing with no music but some laughs and giggles could be heard from both of them.

Nina felt genuine joy and without thinking she suddenly hugged Charioce falling both of them on the King's bed. Now she was laughing on top of him, with their faces very close to each other, and Charioce looking at her with a smile placer on his lips.

Charioce got closer to her, closing the gab between their faces. He kissed her softly with tenderness forgetting of her colossal straight. After the kiss both of them looked at each other with a look of love, and touching gently Nina's check he said " And that's the only motive of my actions".

Wanted to experiment on how much of the Charioce and Nina scenes I could put into one video! There's less of the dance here and more of the way they communicate with each other by looking.

The song is from Nina's POV.

The first part I conceptualized was the first chorus because their first dance is really beautiful to me and I knew I could fit it in the "come around".

Next I tried to figure out which key scenes would go with the other "come around" choruses. From there I could figure out which scenes to put in the verses. I try to keep things more or less sequential because for this video I wanted it to tell their story.

I knew right away I wanted the "Can't you see you're my life" line to be their kiss.

The last part had to be Bahamut fight and last dance ofc.

Favorite part is "But you're the one, you're the one" with Chris' smile :D

If you watched it then you know there are A LOT of transitions in this piece, mainly because I was experimenting.
