wait am i ON TO something or ON something when i say that it's weird how there are barely any pjo characters without a romantic partner

like everyone has one. percy and annabeth. will and nico. piper and shel, leo and calypso, frank and hazel. hell even chris and clarisse, silena and charles (rip), chiara and damien, sherman and miranda, lavinia and poison ivy.

but like focusing on the main characters, they're all either in a relationship or not. of course, there's nothing wrong with either but why are those not in a relationship... because they can't?

thalia's in the hunters. reyna joined them as well, though we know she experiences some sort of attraction. jason died after breaking up with piper. rachel, who liked percy before he got with annabeth, cant get a boyfriend anymore because she's an oracle.

maybe im looking into things too deep. but why does joining the hunters immediately make you aroace? i love the representation, but im sure there's at least one allo who would just rather follow artemis than entertain any attraction they feel. or, on the other hand, an aro/ace character who just doesnt want to join the hunters. or, hell, an allo character who isn't in a relationship just because they either aren't ready for one or just haven't found their person yet? reminder that they're all in their teens are early 20s. there's nothing wrong with not being romantically entangled at that age.

additionally, i have an issue with sadie being in a relationship? at 13? not an inherently bad thing, but a 12-13 year old dating a 14-16 year old is a bigger mental gap than you think. also the fact he merged with a thousand-year old god? sadie can have a crush but that crush being reciprocated is... weird.

it kind of feels like rick just puts together characters in a relationship to 'complete' them. and then puts the characters he hasn't been able to give partners, into a situation where they just can't have one.
