Now that we are on marine matters, I must notice the prodigious size of the lobsters off Boston Coast: they could stow a dozen common English lobsters under their coats of mail. My very much respected friend Sir Isaac Coffin, when he was here, once laid a wager that he would produce a lobster weighing thirty pounds. The bet was accepted, and the admiral despatched people to the proper quarter to procure one: but they were not then in season, and could not be had. The admiral, not liking to lose his money, brought up, instead of the lobster, the affidavits of certain people that they had often seen lobsters of that size and weight. The affidavits of the deponents he submitted to the other party, and pretended that he had won the wager. The case was referred to arbitration, and the admiral was cast with the following pithy reply, “Depositions are not lobsters.”

ok this gonna be long as FUCKK but here we go. also im so sorry for how long and detailed and “real” this shit gets and also TW for fictional homo/transphobia

kurt (and his family) was created to look like that stereotypical Well Off White Family that Sometimes Host Parties at their Big Ass House.

there’s kurt— the c-student jock, ellie— the straight-A prep girl, charles— a regular ol office worker, their/ellie’s dog max, and gen— the lawyer and main breadwinner of the family. BUT. it goes deeper than that .

gen’s the strict quick-to-anger parent, though most of it is her unhealthy way of releasing stress from work. tiny things can set her off but she does try to make up for it. her relationship with kurt continues to flip-flop between good and tense as she’s pushed responsibilities onto him as he is the oldest child of two working parents. shes also unfortunately homophobic/transphobic for a long period of time as she was raised in a household that encouraged that viewpoint. her stubbornness kept her from changing for a long time, but even then it wasn’t enough to fully repair the rift between her and her children

charles is the more lenient parent as he gets home earlier and has more time with the kids even though both parents work long hours. he’s the one the kids come to first when they have a problem. in the meantime he’s having some suspicions about kurt and worries about his academic career and also about his personal life. he was also raised in a homophobic society, but kurt’s coming out had given charles a reality check and seeing kurt so upset and distant gave him the push that maybe... maybe charles was wrong about it.

ellie’s a popular freshman with a lot of acquaintances and a large friend group. she enjoys a lot of mainstream things like tiktok or vsco shit or whatever. she and kurt are thick as thieves and shes actually the feistier sibling and more able to stand up for herself when kurt’s not around to help her. she struggles with identifying her sexuality, and is unknowingly pushed further into the closet by remarks by friends and parents (mostly her mother). kurt’s failed coming out pushed her even deeper for a long time, it wasn’t until probably two years or so later that she finally stood up and felt confident and proud in herself as a lesbian

kurt is a teddy-bear of a guy and is really trying his damn hardest to be kind to everyone, keep up with football and whatever other sports he does, and his slowly tanking grades. he’s got a good heart but is struggling both academically and with other facets of himself. he’s popular— like his sister now and his father before him— but that doesn’t mean he’s had a lot of real friends. he stands up for everybody but himself and has started to become more and more restless, openly defying certain things gen pushes onto him.

as of recently he’s coming to terms with being gay but is still deathly afraid of being out after a family dinner went to hell because of his mother’s harsh reaction. his father wasn’t as equally welcoming of it, but it changed his perspective significantly. still, kurt’s started to close himself off from his family and applying to and hopefully being accepted into at least one university to get away from them

a sort of side plot is his relationship with christian walker (a trans guy kurt befriended and later started dating even before he was out to his family) and how gen’s prejudice makes her view chris as his AGAB and thinking chris is just a lesbian in denial because “no girl dresses like that”. chris is like fuck you because its his gut reaction at this point and that kinda ruins his image with kurt’s parents for a while

because ive been playing too much of the sims 4 recently im trying to see how things play out and how i can make sim!kurt into a celebrity cause i have get famous so MAYBE. that might be in his future where he becomes a celebrity or something

he’ll settle down and be happily married to chris one day thats for sure im just trying to build birth-high school graduation for him and this is what i have so far. boy do i love drama huh??????huh????
