public library

Kade found himself at the public library, trying to avoid yet another familial obligation. Someone had passed along to him that the oldest Wesson was looking for him and that they didn’t appear to be in the best of moods. Knowing the interaction would be less than pleasant, Kade decided to avoid anyone and everyone he knew. His siblings, unfortunately, knew his normal haunts so none would work if they were determined to find him. It was a small town after all and they weren’t entirely stupid. They’d made it their business to track creatures of darkness, humans were easy after that.
But there was a place he was certain no one would know him. The library.
Putting up his hood, he stepped into the building and looked around. It was getting late in the day and felt fairly quiet which was perfect. A soft buzzing came from his pocket and the hunter rolled his eyes. Quickly turning his phone off, Kade started to wander through the aisles of books. His fingers skimmed the spines as he walked, head tilting to read some of the titles. The hunter had rarely been around the place and despite his lack of interest in the books, he was curious to scope out the scene. After all, the last place his family would look for him was a place like this. Maybe he could find someone to bother or something to do.
As he passed down another aisle, the hunter could feel eyes on him. Was someone watching him? Stopping, he pulled one of the books off the shelf and casually glanced at it before looking back up to try and find the source of his sudden discomfort.
