has ANYONE received their @biowarefanzine or any news at all? i’ve tried to contact the organizers (allaloam and charlestan) on every platform—email, tumblr, and twitter—and they never respond. they haven’t updated the tumblr since early december, they said they were gonna ship out late january but it’s almost march now (2/26). i haven’t seen any pictures of the product or so much as a “hey sorry this is what’s up” and, i don’t wanna jump to any conclusions, but this really doesn’t look good.
2018 update: after countless messages and going down every avenue to contact allaloam and charlestan, tan messaged me back and just outright refused to acknowledge that he had any part in the organization of this zine which is...first of all, don’t do that? that’s such a cop-out move when you’ve been hyping this shit for weeks and saying you’re one of two curators. second, even if you had no part in the selection of the printers or whatever, don’t bitch to me about it. GO FIND OUT. that’s your JOB. you are on a team. ACT LIKE IT. i will never say “the customer is right” but, in this case, i’m right. saying “no, i have nothing to do with that” isn’t gonna make me trust you and your abilities to organize anything when your name is on the organizer’s list.
allaloam got back to me (finally) and, while late, she was always very polite and understood my worries. she was never cross...but i can’t trust her to organize a zine purely because of the lack of transparency and updates.
