Seeing this particular discourse makes me think of one thing: Sherlock. I was such a fan, not in a fandom way but a of the show as a whole. But I didn't get the whole john x sherlock romance thing. As far as I could see it came from a few crumbs of wink wink nudge nudge in the pilot episode. At end of S4 people were furious it hadn't happened which I never got bc it seemed so obvious to me that the writers liked their bit of fandom but they were never ever gonna go there... like many a show
Right right, like. To be clear, I'm not saying don't ship or people are stupid for shipping BUT. Me saying oh I ship Rhona and Kim isn't going to make me go feral when they obviously don't do that lmao. Like idk shipper culture is so alien to me (as in people who bounce between/accumulate all these ships who are OTP and soulmates and endgame). But and age might be a huge part of me not getting on that wavelength, idk what the alien show demo is but. How many times do you need to get burned before you stop putting your hand in that particular fire?
It's like *whispers* Steve/Bucky shippers. They never promised you one thing on that front don't be mad they didn't settle in a house in Massachusetts with a dog and three cats
