Publicado con motivo del 30.º aniversario de UNU-INWEH y en vísperas de la Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Agua de 2026, este informe insignia, Global Water Bankruptcy: Living Beyond Our Hydrological Means in the Post-Crisis Era ( Quiebra hídrica mundial: vivir más allá de nuestros recursos hidrológicos en la era posterior a la crisis ), sostiene que el mundo ha entrado en una nueva etapa: cada vez más cuencas fluviales y acuíferos están perdiendo la capacidad de volver a su “normalidad” histórica. Las sequías, la escasez y los episodios de contaminación que antes parecían crisis temporales se están volviendo crónicos en muchos lugares, lo que indica una condición posterior a la crisis que el informe denomina bancarrota hídrica .

El informe aboga por un cambio fundamental en la agenda mundial del agua: de la reacción reiterada ante emergencias a la " gestión de quiebras ". Esto implica afrontar el exceso de recursos con una contabilidad hídrica transparente, límites exigibles y la protección del capital natural relacionado con el agua que la produce y almacena (acuíferos, humedales, suelos, ríos y glaciares), garantizando al mismo tiempo que las transiciones estén explícitamente orientadas a la equidad y protejan a las comunidades vulnerables y sus medios de vida.

Fundamentalmente, el informe presenta el agua no solo como una fuente creciente de riesgo, sino también como una oportunidad estratégica en un mundo fragmentado. Argumenta que una inversión significativa en agua puede impulsar avances en materia de clima, biodiversidad, suelo, alimentación y salud, y servir como plataforma práctica para la cooperación dentro y entre sociedades. Actuar con prontitud, antes de que la presión se agrave y se convierta en una pérdida irreversible, puede reducir los riesgos compartidos, fortalecer la resiliencia y reconstruir la confianza mediante resultados tangibles.

This book is published on the occasion of the exhibition Barbara Gladstone Gallery, Brussels   and Galerie Jérome de Noirmont, Paris 

In November 2005, Shirin Neshat, recent winner of the Silver Lion award at the 2009 Venice Biennale, was invited to participate in an art project in Luang Prabang, Laos. While there, she attended a Buddhist ceremony at the Vat That Luang monastery, in which the life of Pha Vet, Buddha's penultimate reincarnation before enlightenment, is recited by the monks. One evening, on the monastery grounds, Neshat encountered a group of elderly laypeople, socializing and singing with passionate glee. Neshat learned that, during this recital, these men and women camped outside the sanctuary, listening to the reading and singing duets of the courting songs of their youth. Neshat, who has built much of her oeuvre on themes of ritual seduction through song and gesture, decided to make these Laotians the subject of her project, and returned in October 2008 to film the singers, costuming them in neutral colors to focus intensely on the singers themselves, and creating a projection in which male and female singers face each other in erotic tension.

I riti richiamano in modo molto diretto diversi soggetti dei film nei quali Neshat ha esplorato i confini tra i sessi, la specificità dei territori maschile e femminile e la loro ripartizione tra spazi pubblici e privati. In questo lavoro c'è tutto l'occhio di Shirin Neshat e l'acutezza della sua visione, che da un punto di vista continuamente altalenante, grazie alla sinteticità delle forme e ai primi piani sui volti, trasforma la tradizione orale d'altri tempi in un'arte della presenza.

Taylor Swift's new holiday single, "Christmas Tree Farm," takes root in the top 10 of Billboard's Adult Contemporary radio airplay chart (dated Dec. 21), sprouting from No. 25 to No. 10 following its first full week of tracking after its Dec. 6 release.

Swift scores her 14th career AC top 10, after first reaching the region with "Teardrops on My Guitar" in March 2008. She boasts seven No. 1s, the most of all artists since "Love Story" became her first leader in June 2009. She most recently reigned with Reputation single "Delicate" last year.

The AC chart measures total weekly plays, as tabulated by Nielsen Music, among its reporting panel of 86 stations, many of which segue to playing holiday music 24/7 during the holiday season.

On the streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Billboard Hot 100, "Tree" debuts at No. 59, marking Swift's 96th entry. The only acts with more: Glee Cast (207), Drake (206), Lil Wayne (163), Elvis Presley (109), Kanye West (107), Nicki Minaj (106), Jay-Z (100) and Chris Brown (98).

"Tree" bows (boughs?) at No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales chart with 26,000 sold in the week ending Dec. 12, as Swift adds her record-extending 49th top 10 on the tally. (Runner-up Drake has 43.)

The track also drew 7.7 million U.S. streams in its first tracking week and starts at No. 19 on the multi-metric Holiday 100 chart. Swift earns her second top 20 hit on the seasonal list, after her cover of Wham!'s "Last Christmas" reached No. 18 in 2012.
