About Me and New Media Marketing
Hello. My name is Chase Tan and I am a student at Western Washington University seeking a degree in Business Administration with a focus in marketing. I have a dog named max. He's small.
I am 21 years young and although I enjoy being this age, I am very excited for the advent of time travel. I will use time travel to warn younger Chase not to do so many dumb things and will perhaps even play funny tricks on him. That guy couldn't tie his shoes until he was like 8, so he should be an easy target.
In all seriousness, I am an aspiring young professional who enjoys learning new things and meeting new people. I am a big sports fan (Go Hawks!) and have a career goal of working in the sports marketing industry with a professional team (as long as it isn't the Steelers).
I am very excited for this course. I understand that we live in a digital era and am very excited to learn relevant skills throughout this quarter. With everything being so futuristic these days, I don't want to fall behind.

In regards to the US Interactive Marketing Forecast and the Technology Giants at War: Another Game of Thrones articles, I found both to be very interesting and relevant to the role of new media in our current world. The Forrester portrayed the imminent growth of interactive marketing in coming years. Search marketing, display marketing, email marketing, mobile marketing and social media will become an increasingly more encompassing portion of the overall advertising marketing mix. The article from The Economist was particularly interesting, documenting the intersecting paths of these online and electronic juggernauts, detailing the manner in which each company seeks to expand upon their presence into new markets. As these grounds continue to expand for each company, the lines of competition have began to intersect and will inevitably continue to do so for many years to come.
