At her snickering, the witch frowned. But he wasn't going to say anything about it till she had said more. He was of course not as well learned as some of the other Son's, in all of this. He had to learn this all by himself, so far. Some things, he had come to realize, were much more readily available to them than others, with the power. He had a connection to storms, spider creation, invisibility, little things like that. But sensing another's aura was a lot trickier to him. Probably not to Pogue, though.
His jaw tightened as he observed the woman, waiting for her to say more, still. Bringing his arms up, he crossed them over his chest as she had started speaking once again. Shrugging then at the question he smiled "I wouldn't know. I only learned about all of this when I turned eighteen. Then I stopped existing for a little while." He hadn't really aged in that time, so one could claim he was dead, and maybe had been, the difference now was the burns and the broken body, still, however.
"Well we aren't very good at keeping our history, I guess." He squint, then exhaled "And why would you want to help me? Do you know what's going on with me and the other's I have to unfortunately be constantly at odds with." It was because the others didn't understand what The Covenant had done. They were the bad guys, he was just the dragon. Created by their negligence, there creed to keep his bloodline a secret, and forced to suffer for a century or more because of it. As far as Chase was concerned, the other son's thought that it was right even though Chase had nothing to do with whatever John Putnam had been doing a century prior "I'm not going to convince anyone why what happened to my family, was wrong. More than wrong. It was evil. And my goal to make those who did that, pay, is right."
Anyone for The Covenant, was for his suffering growing up. They were the enemy, always. They were for the effects. They were for his being damaged. They were for his being addicted. They were the villain of this story. He was just the result.
