       Standing beside the tree, Momo started measuring her height with it. She smiled widely looking at him. “Oppa, It’s so much taller then me.” She said as she started putting the lights on with him. Smiling happily she looked over at him. “I can make popcorn and we can put it on string so then it can go around the tree, though I don’t know why they actually do that, but we should.” She said as she started placing angels on the tree looking at her friend besides her. “We can put the star at the end together.”

Areum was not expecting to encounter her ex-boyfriend, out of all people, in the Seoul streets after so long without seeing each other. In fact, everything had changed in her life since they had broke up. He seemed the same though and it surprised her how calm she was. Well, she had no reasons to be upset or nostalgic, or feel any other emotions towards him. She had suggested a friendship with him before but it seemed like he was not inclined to accepting so they parted ways, just like that.

It seemed ironic that he would show up now but life seemed to work in funny ways. She was prepared to walk past him for she honestly thought  he would simply ignored her. However, that didn’t seem to be the case.

“Hmm-- explain what?” Areum rose an eyebrow in confusion as she looked at the male that was now in front of her. “Bryan? Are you okay?” He didn’t seem to be. What was he supposed to explain to her after so long of not seeing each other?

“I’m not?” Arrum groaned, pacing around the room, frustration and stress getting the best of her. “Then perhaps you can explain to me why I always fuck up, in literally everything?”

Stopping to look at him for a moment, she chuckled bitterly before she was back to pacing around her apartment, hands tugging at her own hair before she stopped against a wall, her back sliding until she was sitting down. She hid her face in her hands, trying her best not to cry.

Maybe it would have been best if Areum hadn’t showed up bloody to her apartment. Bryan had been waiting for her and had literally freaked out when he saw the trails of blood on her face. She had cursed for being stupid and not wiping off the evidences of being beaten up again before she got home. Still, she couldn’t have guessed he would be there. He hadn’t even called or texted.

“Bryan- I’m fine. I’ll take care of it myself,” She tried to ease his mind, a light chuckle leaving her lips as she dismissed it, though she was hiding a wince in her mouth while he wiped the blood off her face, the cuts still fresh.
