Chasind Items

Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes

Only available in Dragon Age Origins: Collector's Edition, this is an item that gives the user 3 points to spend on attributes. The description states:

In these pages are hundreds of harrowing tales describing how the barbarians of the Frozen Wastes, far north of Orthland, survive in their icy homeland. The authors hope their stories will help readers in their times of need. Or, at the least, prove entertaining.

Note that this description is outdated, as Orthland is the former name of the Andersfels, and to its north are jungles, not icy terrain. This is almost certainly referring to the Agadi, especially taking the following items into account.

Boots of the Frozen Wastes

These are medium Argent boots that provide +304 cold protection, one rune slot, and armor stats for heavy boots (although this may be a bug.) Its codex entry states:

Temperatures in the Frozen Wastes can become perilously cold. The barbarians that live there favor boots like these to protect against frostbite. The barbarians, who are generally hospitable and friendly, often present these as gifts to travelers.

The Sunless Staff

The Sunless Staff is a unique cold staff found in Therinfal Redoubt, only available if you play Champions of the Just. It has upgrade slots for grip, staff blade, and one rune. Its description states:

Supposedly crafted in the dread Sunless Lands south of the Korcari Wilds, this staff was wielded by the shaman to the Avvar warlord Balak, who swept into the Fereldan valley at the height of the Steel Age. Balak was defeated, but the shaman vanished during the final battle in the southern Hinterlands.

This description is also inaccurate as the Avvar live in the Frostback Mountains to the west of the Korcari Wilds. Once again, this is probably referring to the Agadi who reside in the Sunless Lands.
