fanlore has decided to remove the documentation of Dorian Ravenscroft aka D.A. Ravenscroft aka enjoloras's former abuse of their ex-spouse and abandonment of their child with ALL (cancer). the reason for this removal is twofold: someone (likely Dorian herself) made a sock puppet account and vandalized the page- as well as attacking the page's editors [source]- who were then forced to involve Fanlore's moderation to lock the page and protect its authors. the second reason is that Fanlore believes ravenscroft's abuse allegations are not relevant to her fannish history. i disagree with fanlore's decision but they are free to moderate their website however they see fit. in turn, i have decided to archive the information removed from Fanlore here on Tumblr.

Personal life
In their personal life, Ravenscroft was formerly married to Alex Ravenscroft (a.k.a. Elle[1]), a Grantaire cosplayer Ravenscroft met on Tumblr through the Les Miserables fandom. The couple were best known for their cosplay shipping photoshoots of the pairing Enjolras/Grantaire (E x R), their matching Tumblr URLs (Ravenscroft was 'enjoloras' while Elle was 'softgrantaire'), and their Les Miserables-themed wedding[2].
Abuse allegations
Elle and Ravenscroft married in 2016[2] and divorced in 2023[3] after a year of separation. This divorce was the origin of Ravenscroft's most infamous fandom controversy.
Elle alleged severe emotional and psychological abuse[4] by Ravenscroft, as well as accusations of infidelity[5] and child abandonment.
Elle, an individual diagnosed with severe epilepsy, wrote that Ravenscroft frequently belittled their disorder and expressed frustration towards Elle for having seizures: "It was automatically my fault whenever I had a seizure, [and] it annoyed [Ravenscroft] when I had a seizure"[1]. In one noted instance, Ravenscroft blogged on Tumblr that their "day was ruined" by Elle having an epileptic attack. This blog entry was published while Elle was actively seizing in the next room.[2]
In October of 2018, Elle was seen in public with a scratched and bleeding face, prompting allegations of physical abuse by Ravenscroft on Tumblr[3]; both Elle and Ravenscroft denied these allegations, stating Elle had simply fallen. Ravenscroft would reportedly refuse to work despite Elle's disability, forcing Elle to work instead to support them. Elle stated that most of their employment earnings went to Ravenscroft[4], who had a shopping addiction, and that Ravenscroft spent money so flippantly that the couple struggled to afford food[5] and had to resort to begging for donations on Tumblr to buy groceries.
The couple shared one child, a boy born in October of 2017 who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in the spring of 2022[6]. In the summer of 2022 Ravenscroft relocated from their and Elle's shared home in Glastonbury to London, leaving their son in Elle's care.[7]
During this time, Elle wrote on his blog[6] that he was a "single parent" and that Ravenscroft rarely visited their son in hospital[8]. Ravenscroft's motivation for relocating was reportedly to cohabitate with their new partner (and future second wife), a friend and follower whom Ravenscroft had also met through Tumblr. Elle stated that the two had grown close while Ravenscroft and Elle were still previously married, and that Ravenscroft and their future partner reportedly shared a bedroom in the couple's Glastonbury flat together for ten days[9] without Elle.
Ravenscroft denied allegations of an affair to Elle when suspicions were raised, calling their future partner a 'platonic soulmate'[10]. Ravenscroft would later ask Elle for a separation, stating that their future partner had confessed their love to them and that Ravenscroft had reciprocated.[11] Elle alleges that Ravenscroft willingly cheated on them during the duration of their marriage even before asking for a separation.
In late 2022, while their son was still in hospital, Ravenscroft announced that they had gone on holiday to Malta to propose to their new partner. This holiday seemingly accounted for why they did not visit their son during his treatment. At the time of the engagement, Ravenscroft and Elle were still legally married. While still undergoing treatment, Ravenscroft's son reportedly attempted to contact them, but was unable to do so as Elle's phone number had been blocked by Ravenscroft.[12]
In resolution, Ravenscroft scheduled a time with Elle to meet with their son at a time Ravenscroft themself had suggested—Ravenscroft later failed to appear.[12]
Regarding Ravenscroft's alleged abandonment of their son, Elle wrote on Mother's Day of 2024:
"[They] don’t go to his chemo, or his therapy, or calm him down after meltdowns, or wake up at 3 AM because he’s being sick all over his room. [They] don’t know any of his friend's names, or his favourite class, or attend parent/teacher meetings, or volunteer for field trips. I taught [our son] how to read and how to write his name, and what has [Ravenscroft] done? Nothing. Fucking NOTHING. [Ravenscroft] carried him for 9 months and gave birth to him, but [they are] not his fucking mom".[13]
Their son later entered remission in October of 2024[14]. Ravenscroft would later forfeit total custody of their son to Elle[15], who then relocated with their child to America while Ravenscroft remained in London. Ravenscroft remarried in 2023[16]. Their son was not invited to the wedding.[17]
In July of 2025, Ravenscroft made a public statement regarding their controversial past on X[18].
"I won't sugarcoat anything: about 4 years ago I was a mess. Emotionally disregulated [sic], toxic to be around, seeking validation constantly. I was impulsive, had a major problem with spending money I didn't have and straight up was just a bad, unsupportive partner to my then partner."
Ravenscroft went on to say their behavior was the result of undiagnosed ADHD and unresolved personal trauma which they carried into their former marriage.
"None of these things were caused only by [my] ADHD, of course- a ton of it was my own shitty decisions, which I'll own".
On July 12th 2025, Elle stated on Tumblr that Ravenscroft had not yet issued any personal apology for their actions.
"I didn’t get a personal apology, I’ve never gotten a personal apology, [and] the only time she’s ever admitted she was shitty was that thread."[19]
