When I was 14ish I read this book called chasing Vermeer and it was about these kids solving a puzzle blah blah blah and it had to do specifically with Vermeer paintings and how a lot of the paintings attributed to him aren’t actually his (or something like that) and ever since reading that book whenever I see anything with the name Vermeer I now go is this a true Vermeer? And that’s such a fun thing

i think everyone has that book they read in like 4th or 5th grade that just lives inside them and has never left the back of their mind

i don’t mean harry potter or lotr, i mean a book you have not read since, can barely remember the title of most of the time, and if you read it again you might not even recognize it. yet it lingers with feelings of comfort and love and something you can’t quite name and you know somehow without question, that it fundamentally shaped you

I recently started re-reading this. I read it ages ago as a kid and have only vague memories. It's really charming. A perfect autumn read.
