i had a villager ping me to move out and when i said yes go he then replied with saying he may have jumped the gun, but then he thanked me for everything I've done for him. it seems like he's staying, but i'm not sure, it was very unclear. do you know whether he is moving or not?

It means the villager won't be moving, there's a big chance of a villager changing it's mind if you're not close friends with them and they talk to you about moving.
