I've googled this but haven't been able to get a clear answer. I bought another physical copy of ACNL and am wondering if I can use the same SD card and 3DS that I've been using for my original copy (and not have the data from my original copy get deleted). The only thing I can find online is that you can't have two DIGITAL copies because digital copies save to SD cards. I read that you can have 2 physical carts, but what's unclear is if, in addition, I need another SD card. Thanks!

You don't need another SD card. Only digital copies of ACNL store data on the SD card. You can have as many physical copies as you want on however many DS's.

When you donate all the artworks to the museum you can get the Paintball wall and the Paintball floor in the museum shop. I think they would look perfect in an art studio!

hey, i got acnl about two weeks ago and ive seen a lot about time travelling and i was wondering: if you go back in time will it erase your current progress? thanks!

It will not revert any changes you’ve made to your town but going back in time always counts as one day no matter how many days you traveled back so be aware that villagers can move away!

I see these towns with trees and bamboo growing in rivers and on the beach. How is that possible?

They have probably been using a RAM editor which lets you edit your town on your computer, this can damage your game files and is not recommended so use it at your own risk!

I had 9 villagers and then one of them asked to move. She hadn't moved yet and I got a random move in? I thought you could only get randoms if you had 8?

Sometimes you can get villagers via Streetpass or when you visit a friends town so I think that happened to you, villagers don’t randomly move in if someone’s moving out or if you have 9 or more villagers in your town.

You need to add the person to your 3DS friend list and vice versa if you want to visit any town, but you can visit random towns in a dream if you have the Dream Suite!

What is streetpass?

If you carry around your 3DS in your bag you might walk past another 3DS and if the owner of that 3DS also owns New Leaf that persons house will show up in your Happy Home Showcase. You can read more about it here!

I bought City Folk used and wondered if it was compatible for visits with New Leaf towns?

No, you can only visit towns in the same game!

How do you make fruit rot? I've left fruit on the ground for months, and it won't rot!

Fruit doesn’t rot from being on the ground. When you shake a perfect fruit tree’s last harvest off (so all the leaves fall off with it), one of the fruit will be rotten.

I've had the New leaf game for a couple of years and I still don't have many public works choices for my town. How do I get more of those?

Basically, playing the game longer in one sitting increases the chances that a villager will ping! you to suggest a PWP. You can also do the diving trick to increase the chances of a PWP being suggested!

hello! to get your dream villagers is there a trick or is it luck? i sometimes feel bad for moving them out lol

If you’re just letting villagers randomly move in, there’s not a lot you can do. You can plot reset when you know you’re getting a random move in soon. Every time you load that new character, the house plot will be in a different place with a different villager name. Other than that, people mostly adopt villagers from other people’s towns. You can see villagers up for sale and how to trade them on the blog villagertrade!

do you have any suggestions for pricing the villagers that you're trading?

I’d just browse through villagertrade and see what your villager or similarly popular ones have been traded for! Asking for another villager or a couple rare furniture sets is common, as well as several million bells for top tier villagers.

Do tans go away? I recently tanned my mayor for the first time and I was wondering if it could just, you know, fade away.

Yes, tans will fade away over time.

Sorry if you have answered this already, I am just wondering if Gracie coming is completely random or is there anything I can to do encourage them to visit? They have come once but I want to do all my fashion checks!

Gracie’s visits are completely random. There is no way to encourage her to come to your town.

When will I obtain the hair shop above the Able Sisters shop? :) Is there something specific I have to do or does it just appear over time?

These are the requirements to get Shampoodle (hair salon):

Spend at least 10,000 bells in Able Sisters’ or Kicks

It must be at least 10 days since Kicks (shoe shop) was built
