Summary: Dean Winchester's life is... well, it's not great. He's a gym teacher, he's in his thirties, and he can't seem to keep any part of his life straight. When the aftermath of a one-night stand goes awry, Dean is dragged kicking and screaming out of his cozy little closet and into the harsh light of reality.
Enter: Castiel Novak, the new history teacher, who knows full well that life gets crappy when you don't allow yourself to live it in the way it needs to be lived.
Comments: 9/10 it’s sweet and sad and angsty all at the same time. Dean struggles with depression throughout the fic, and while I can’t vouch for how realistic it is, it’s pretty well depicted. Dean and Cas meet and fuck in a pub bathroom, where they don’t know each other’s names, but they run into each other the next day at school, while Dean vehemently tries to tell himself that he’s not gay. Cas saves Dean, and Dean saves Cas, they fuck, fight, kiss, and makeup all throughout the fic. The smutty parts are awesome as well. A very well balanced fic. WARNING: depression, past suicide attempt, suicidal thoughts, John’s A+ parenting, and Dean’s crippling self worth.
