She sent the text. I might have been a lot later than she said that she would send it, and the message on it wasn’t entirely true, but nonetheless it was sent. Now she had to have patience, which with her nerves was difficult. She placed herself on her bed. Fighting the urge to ocassionally glance out of her window, almost as though she thought stillness would keep her calm. Delaney wasn’t quite sure why she was so anxious, after all it wasn’t like Rusty was a stranger, but she knew that when he did arrive what would happen next was uncertain. Delaney didn’t like uncertainty.
Over the last few days she’d thought more and more about how to proceed forward, and whether she wanted to or not. Admitting that she might want to try and figure things out between the two of them, felt like it meant an admittance of weakness and she didn’t want to be found weak, especially when she had worked so hard to be strong. But she wondered how much she would regret not trying things now their feelings were mutual. It was choice that she was going to leave blurred for now, until she knew what to do.
