Abel rounded a corner and bumped into Addy, pulled himself back and held his hands out because he remembered she didn’t like to be touched. “Sorry” he breathed, pushing his hands to his sides, because he was a bit all over the place after the news. He looked around to make sure it was just the two of them before he spoke again. “Are you alright? It’s been-- been a crazy couple of hours”

“Oh hi” Luca smiled as he heard the footsteps and looked up from his drawing. He’d been camped out in one of the viewing rooms, waiting for the launch, as the hours ticked by, which was strange, because as far as he’d been aware, launch always happened at the same time. “Got any idea what’s going on?” he asked, and pushed the notebook over to her with his pen, knowing she couldn’t speak.

“Can you clean this mess up? It’s putting me off my food” Dale asked, a grimace on his face as he pointed over to a spillage of soup in the tower cafe. He wasn’t actually eating, just sipping a black coffee, but it was disgusting nevertheless, and the avox didn’t seem to be on her A game.

Abel had ran out of his usual box of cereal, but when he looked outside the window and noticed the rain he changed his mind about going out to get some breakfast. He sipped on his coffee, hoping that would do for now, but felt his stomach grumble just a minute later. He groaned, dragging himself to his room to put some acceptable clothes on. Just as he was pulling on a sweater he heard a knock on the door. Curious, because he didn’t think he was expecting anybody, he pulled it open, a smile instantly reaching his lips. “Hey— come in out of the rain” he urged, opening the foot wider.
“You must be sick of these things by now” Luca hummed softly as he approached Addy, placing a few empty glasses on her tray in an effort to help out, and as a distraction from the ball itself, because he was never a fan, especially when he was pushed to sit with all the other stuffy sponsors for most of the night.

Luca would never feel completely comfortable at these kind of events, but, as he got to know more people, it got a little bit easier. He could at least distract himself with chatting to friends for a while, do his best to forget why he was hear until someone came up to ask for money.
He was nursing a bottle of beer when he slid beside Addy as she wiped down a table, a smile on his lips. “Hello” he hummed. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many red suits before” he laughed then, looking around the room.
