continued from here for @starboyjim
Although she’d fixated on the lanterns outside of her window for so long as a child, she had come to learn that there were other things that made the sky look just as beautiful, one of which included fireworks. She’d never seen anything like it, the way that they burst in the sky like they were blossoming, then fading away. With Jim’s sense of adventure taking over, he had insisted that they go to his favorite spot to go watch them, at the top of a small mountain that had been a pretty silent hike to get there. Though Rapunzel knew what she had to say, she had no idea how to form the words.
Rapunzel couldn’t help but stare in awe, her gaze focused on the spectacle in front of her. She had never seen them from so high up before, watching as they burst and rained light on the entire city at the bottom. “Thank you for this,” she said as the show ended, looking back at him for the first time, though his gaze was already fixated on her. “Thank you for all of it, the adventure.” She paused, digging her feet into the dirt in attempt to ground herself for what was coming next. “But you know we can’t .... follow anything but the fireworks. She’s--they’re not engaged anymore,” Rapunzel mumbled, thinking of Anna and how she had sacrificed the seemingly perfect man for the one beside her.
