Maddox knew something was wrong with Phyllis before he had made her come to his apartment. Call it some type of ghoulish sibling dynamic but he had a feeling something was wrong. Her mannerisms as he watched her pace in his living room gave it away, but mostly how heavy the air felt. Something was dragging her down and Maddox was going to find out what. "Alright, are you going to tell me what's wrong or not?" he asked. Maddox looked over at her and made eye contact. "I know something is going on. I don't know what, but..." His nose scrunched up. "I'm just saying you're scaring me in the not ghostly way. You don't seem okay and...you don't seem yourself."

"Alright, are you ready?" Maddox yelled to Phyllis as he balled up the last of the ammunition (snowballs with rocks in them) he needed to knock down some Christmas lights. He was waiting until he was certain the last of the people in the town square were gone for the night. It was dark, late, and cold. Maddox hated the cold but was lucky enough to be able to keep himself warm. "Alright, 3, 2, 1!" He gave her the signal and started throwing the balls at the beautifully lit tree in the middle of the square, knocking down ornaments and strings of lights. What did they gain from this? Nothing really. Just pure fun chaos. After he knocked enough down he glanced around to make sure no one else was around before he booked it towards the tree. He had a few more snowballs and this time aimed for the star, knocking it straight down into the snow. He walked towards it, carefully picking it up because ew snow. His hands grew warmer and the snow that was on it melted away in an instance. The star was silver and shiny, enough for Maddox to want it. He may have forgotten to mention to Phyllis that it was also made of iridescent crystals and this was a crime. "Isn't it awesome?" he asked, holding it up to her.
