❛ we should give him a name , he's got so much charm and personality ! ❜ the vampire exclaimed as she finished setting the skeleton in a position that made it look as though it was reading . what kind of self - respecting halloween decorated building doesn't have at least one skeleton on display ? ❛ something like ... edgar , or boris . what do you think phyllis , doesn't he look like a tormented soul ?! ❜ giggling , sibella opened her arms towards what she be considered the piece de resistance of their work thus far , proudly presenting it to the specter . how nice of the mayor to let people volunteer to help decorate the town buildings ; halloween decorating was always more fun with her ghouls . ❛ i was thinking maybe we should add some spider webs to the windows next , make it look a little like grimwood ! oh , and a fog machine ! though i'm not sure we have access to that ... ❜

❛ — phyllis ! you sneaky little spirit ! ❜ the words escaped her the moment sibella approached her dear friend , wishing she could grab her hands and drag her to the corner of the ballroom just so they could talk in private ; or as much privacy as one can have at an event like this . nevertheless , sibella beckoned the other to follow her with a delicate movement of her hand . there were conversations that simply needed to be had , and this one couldn't wait .

❛ why didn't you tell me you had a date to the ball , huh ? such betrayal hurts more than a stake to the heart , ❜ the vampire affirmed , a dramatic hand resting over her chest while the other moved to her forehead . she did have a flair for dramatics , all of her kindred did . ❛ no wonder you're looking so netherworldly tonight ! now tell me , who's the lucky devil ? it's not very nice to keep your vampy ventures a secret from your ghoul friends , you know ... ❜ she scolds playfully , a devilish grin on her lips . sibella was no better about things becoming official with diablo until recently , and she was far too excited about phyllis to even feel upset !

"Alright, are you ready?" Maddox yelled to Phyllis as he balled up the last of the ammunition (snowballs with rocks in them) he needed to knock down some Christmas lights. He was waiting until he was certain the last of the people in the town square were gone for the night. It was dark, late, and cold. Maddox hated the cold but was lucky enough to be able to keep himself warm. "Alright, 3, 2, 1!" He gave her the signal and started throwing the balls at the beautifully lit tree in the middle of the square, knocking down ornaments and strings of lights. What did they gain from this? Nothing really. Just pure fun chaos. After he knocked enough down he glanced around to make sure no one else was around before he booked it towards the tree. He had a few more snowballs and this time aimed for the star, knocking it straight down into the snow. He walked towards it, carefully picking it up because ew snow. His hands grew warmer and the snow that was on it melted away in an instance. The star was silver and shiny, enough for Maddox to want it. He may have forgotten to mention to Phyllis that it was also made of iridescent crystals and this was a crime. "Isn't it awesome?" he asked, holding it up to her.

ZANE MUTTERED TO HIMSELF WALKING THROUGH THE near empty library, names of books scrawled messily across his sheet of paper. Retrieving and dropping back books for Jack was not the issue.. it the unnerving stillness of the building that gave him chills. Entering the fiction section, Zane continued down the aisle, offering a friendly smile to the other person. "Hi sorry.. do you mind If I just uh-- grab that green book there?" he whispered against the silence. "Sorry sorry.. don't want to accidently hit-off you, y'know."
